Overload Assignments. (a) An overload assignment is defined as the assignment of duties in excess of the faculty member’s full-time appointment.
Overload Assignments. Any offering of the District which is appropriate to an established department shall be made known to all full-time faculty within such department before scheduling the courses, and all qualified full-time faculty within the department shall have an equal opportunity for overload assignments. All overload and contract load assignments shall be made to full-time faculty prior to the scheduling of the adjunct faculty.
Overload Assignments. 5.6.1 During any regular semester/term, a Unit Member may, by mutual agreement, assume an overload in accordance with the provisions of Article 8. However, such overload shall be subject to preemption to complete regular contract workloads.
Overload Assignments. Distance education course assignments or workload equivalency for initial development or significant revision of distance education courses that are assigned as an overload assignment shall be compensated at the applicable overload compensation rate provided for in this Agreement.

Overload Assignments. 1. When a teacher accepts an additional daily class period on a regular basis beyond the normal teaching load it shall be considered an overload assignment.
Overload Assignments. 1. It is understood and recognized that assignment to overload for additional compensation is not a regular expectation, not a right, and not an obligation of employment. It is also understood and recognized that programmatic need is a primary consideration in the assignment of courses and that expertise relevant to the programmatic need will often be a factor in determining the assignment of specific courses to be offered. To the extent possible within the above parameters, academic units should endeavor to distribute equitably these opportunities to work among members of the faculty. If a unit administrator determines the need for an overload assignment, the expectation of the parties to this Agreement is that every reasonable effort should be made to make the assignment available to continuing tenured and tenure-track faculty and then FTNTT Faculty members in the academic unit or resident at the campus at which the course is to be offered before assigning the course to a part-time or non-university faculty member.
Overload Assignments. An overload assignment occurs when a full-time classroom faculty member is assigned a load greater than the standard 15 LHE as described in section 6.8. In the event that a full-time faculty member is assigned 3 or greater LHE in excess of 15 LHE, the faculty member shall be entitled to overload pay for the 3 or greater LHE in excess of 15 LHE or the faculty member may bank the overload LHE in accordance with Article 21,
Overload Assignments. If the overload is an extra class not related to the load balancing, then the actual hours or partial hour of the overload will be paid based on the faculty member’s placement on the part-time faculty salary schedule.
Overload Assignments. Overload teaching or service assignments within a department, including CSU-Dayton, will generally be offered on a rotating basis when practical, so that all full-time faculty members of the department may have overload teaching/service opportunities equally without preference as to rank, tenure status, and years of service, subject to the need of the department for teaching/service.
