School Term Employee definition

School Term Employee means an employee, full-time or part-time, who has successfully completed the probationary period and who is employed for the school term. Spring Break and Christmas school closures shall not be considered normal working days for school term employees.
School Term Employee means a regular employee who normally is required to work on, and receive payment for, school days only. Holiday pay is issued for the days of Spring and Christmas closures, in accordance with Article 10.01(b). Such employees may be required to work for one week after the termination of the school year and for one week prior to school opening in September; and they are deemed to be on a temporary lay-off for the unpaid period of the summer closure.
School Term Employee means an employee who has successfully'completedthe prescribed period of probation and who is normally employed each school day during the school year on a full-time or part-time shift basis, and to include the following criteria: School term clerical employees classified as Administrative, Intermediate Administrative, and Library Technicians may work one (1) week after school closing and one (1) week prior to school opening. School term clerical employees shall work during the Christmas and spring breaks but may be moved to alternativepositions as directed by the Director of Human Resources. All school term clerical employees will be offered available clerical work during the summer break by seniority, providing such employees possess the required qualifications. School term clerical employees wishing to work cannot displace regular staff and must register their availability for the summer break with the Human Resources Department, in writing, prior to June 15th. Notwithstanding Article it is understood that when clerical placement for summer employment is required at secondary schools, the first opportunity to work will be given to the senior qualified clerical employee at the particular school by way of recognized call back procedures. Other secondary school term clerical staff will be given recall opportunitiesprior to other elementary school term and casuals being utilized. Secondary clerical employees are exempt from Article to Report on Recall. School term employees classified a.-, Special Education, Food Service Worker and Kitchen Assistant are excluded the opportunity to work during recognized Christmas, spring and summer breaks with their work requirements recognized as being aligned to students being in school. Professional Development days will be recognized as having students in school. Lay off notice as outlined under Article is not required.
