ABSENCE/LEAVE. Absence Days. At the beginning of every fiscal year, each Custodial/Maintenance employee hired before July 1, 2015 shall be credited with six (6) days to be used for the employee's illness/injury and four (4) days for personal business, if he/she has one (1) year of continuous employment prior to the beginning of the fiscal year, otherwise the days will be prorated. Employees hired after July 1, 2015 shall receive three (3) days to be used for illness/injury and two (2) days for personal business. Employee may bank up to fifteen (15) sick days to be used for personal illness or injury only in future years. Any unused personal business days can be carried over as sick days. Annually, the employee may sell back any unused absence days at a rate of $37.50 per day. The day immediately prior to a regularly scheduled school holiday or vacation day and the day immediately following a regularly scheduled school holiday or vacation day, or two consecutive days before or after a weekend shall not be used for Personal Business Days. Employees shall provide forty-eight (48) hours notice if they intend to utilize a personal business day except in the case of an emergency. Short-term disability leave benefits beyond the first ten (10) days (modify fill) shall be provided by an income protection insurance policy which shall be maintained by the School Board. This policy shall include the following benefits:
ABSENCE/LEAVE. Public holiday pay is payable for a public holiday or non-working day falling during an annual holiday or temporary redundancy period, irrespective of the length of the holiday or period. Public holiday pay is also payable for absence during the period of sick pay or during leave lasting no more than two weeks. However, public holiday pay is not payable for days on which the employee received or could have received benefits from the social insurance office. Public holiday pay is not payable to a person who has been absent without valid cause, whether in whole or in part, during the working day immediately before or after the public holiday/non-working day. This also applies to employees with regular working hours on the public holiday/non-working day who are absent without valid cause on the public holiday or non-working day. Public holiday pay is not payable to employees who return to work when they are on leave in accordance with the Military Service Act. Furthermore, public holiday pay is not payable to employees who are on study leave and return to work during a break in their studies.

  • Special Leave of Absence Teachers may be granted leaves of absence without pay for one (1) year under the following criteria:

  • FMLA Leave FMLA leave may be used for:

  • Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.

  • Special Leave (a) Where leave from work is required, an employee shall be entitled to special leave at their regular rate of pay for the following:

  • Military Leaves of Absence The provisions of the Military and Veterans Code of the State of California shall govern military leave of County employees.

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.

  • Special Leaves An employee who is on an approved FMLA leave or on a Voluntary Reduction in Hours as provided elsewhere in this Agreement maintains eligibility for an Employer Contribution.

  • LEAVES OF ABSENCE AND BEREAVEMENT PAY 21.01 The Employer may grant leaves of absence without pay, for a time mutually agreed upon between the Employer and the employee, for the following reasons:

  • Carer’s Leave An employee may use up to 10 days accrued sick days as carers leave to tend to the care for members of the employee’s immediate household. The leave will be subject to the employee providing reasonable proof of the need for the use of xxxxx’s leave. In circumstances where the employee has exhausted all of the paid leave, a further 2 days unpaid leave may be taken.
