ACCESS TO ROOMS. The College reserves the right, at the discretion of the Vice President of Student Affairs and/or their designee, to enter a room when there is probable cause to believe that there may be a concern regarding policy violations or the health, safety, and/or welfare of the resident and/or any member of the student body. Failure to abide by these policies and regulations will result in disciplinary action as prescribed by the Springfield College Student Handbook. College personnel including, but not limited to, Residence Life staff, Facilities and Campus Services Department (FACS), and contracted personnel may enter the rooms for maintenance purposes and to inspect vacancies. When feasible, students will be notified in advance. The resident is not required to be present at the time of entry. The Residence Life staff may conduct Health and Safety room inspections at least twice per semester and are not required to provide notice, though they may choose to do so.

ACCESS TO ROOMS. The University shall at all times during the term of this Contract retain legal ownership and ultimate possession and control of the Student’s room and/or University property assigned to such room. Residence Life reserves the right to maintain and preserve the residence halls. The Student hereby understands and agrees that authorized personnel may enter the Student’s room at any reasonable time for life, safety, or health threatening emergencies; to perform requested or preventative maintenance; to respond to a cry for help or the smell of smoke; or to investigate potential policy violation(s). The Student hereby authorizes access by Residence Life personnel when any law enforcement officer possessing a facially valid search or arrest warrant requests access.

ACCESS TO ROOMS. The College and its agents and representatives shall have the right of access to the Room for the purposes of routine custodial services, and making routine or emergency repairs as necessary, without prior notice to, or consent from Student. Any College official designated by the President and/or Vice President for Student Affairs/Xxxx of Students, upon proper identification and purpose, may also enter the Room and inspect its contents without Student’s consent, if there is reason to believe that a violation of College rules and regulations has occurred. Such designated officials may remove items that are in violation of College, Federal, state or municipal regulations. Further, any representative or agent of the College, including but not limited to campus safety officers and on-call deans may enter the Room at any time without prior notice to, or consent from Student, in an emergency, including, but not limited to, where there is reason to believe that the life, safety, or health of an occupant is at risk, as determined by such representative or agent in his/her/their sole and absolute discretion.
ACCESS TO ROOMS a. The University reserves the right to enter any student’s room at any time that a health, safety, maintenance and/or damage inspection of the premises is deemed necessary. The University reserves the right to remove or confiscate any items that are hazardous to the building or its occupants.
