Accrual of Sick Days. An employee, other than a casual employee, is entitled to sick leave without loss of earnings during each year worked, up to 10 working days or 76 hours which ever is the lesser. (a) An entitlement under sub-clause (1) above, shall be issued on 1st July each year. (b) In sub-clause (1) above, the work "year" does not include any period of unpaid leave. (c) To be paid sick leave, the employee may be requested to provide reasonable proof of illness immediately upon return to work for all days in excess of two sick days per year. (d) Permanent employees in the first year of service shall, having completed three (3) months of service, be entitled to utilise their then yearly accrual for absences which occurred during the first three (3) months of service, subject to the usual requirements of establishing the need for such leave. (e) Any untaken personal sick leave entitlement shall be accumulated from year to year so long as employment continues with the Company. Untaken sick leave shall be available to the employee for a period of ten (10) years but for no longer from the end of the year in which it accrues. Accumulated sick leave will not be paid out and shall be forfeited upon resignation or termination of employment. (f) An employee shall be entitled to utilise five (5) sick days per annum for the care of family members who are ill. The Company will require the employee to supply a Doctors certificate or other appropriate documentary evidence for all such days before payment is made.

Accrual of Sick Days. There shall be a maximum accumulation of unused sick days as follows: 415 days All employees shall be paid regular compensation for time lost due to illness or other causes encompassed by the Agreement for not less than five (5) days annually. This minimum benefit of five (5) days shall become effective and available to use annually on the first day of the contract year in which the employee is assigned to duty. After an employee has used the full amount of sick day credit provided either by regulations of the employer or earned by such employee on the basis of service at the rate of one and one-fourth (1 ¼) days for each month of service, such employee may not be lawfully paid for further absence because of illness. Sick leave accrual shall be uniformly administered among all employees of the district. A. SICK DAY ACCUMULATION Sick leave for all employees working thirty-five (35) hours or more per week shall be credited at the rate of one and one-fourth (1 ¼) days per month or fifteen (15) days per year up to a maximum accumulation as determined in 8.11 above. Other employees covered by this contract shall be entitled to sick leave for the time actually worked pro-rated at the same rate as that granted to thirty-five (35) hours or more per week employees.

  • Accrual of Sick Leave a. A full-time employee shall accrue four (4) hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period, or the number of hours that are directly proportionate to the number of days worked during less than a full-pay period, without limitation as to the total number of hours that may be accrued. b. A part-time employee shall accrue sick leave at a rate directly proportionate to the percent of time employed. c. An employee appointed under Other Personal Services (OPS) shall not accrue sick leave.

  • Accrual of Leave (a) An employee’s entitlement to paid recreation leave accrues progressively during a year of service according to the employee’s ordinary hours of work. (b) If an employee takes unpaid leave that does not count as service, leave will not accrue for that period.

  • Accrual of Interest Each Note will accrue interest at a rate per annum equal to 3.50% (the “Stated Interest”), plus any Additional Interest and Special Interest that may accrue pursuant to Sections 3.04 and 7.03, respectively.   • Accrual of Seniority Seniority shall accrue during: (a) the first one hundred and nineteen (119) calendar days of sick leave including time on E.I. sick benefit or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act; (b) unpaid leaves of absence up to and including one hundred and sixty-eight (168) work hours in a calendar year; (c) hours absent while receiving benefits from the Worker’s Compensation Board; (d) temporary positions, out-of-scope of any union, with the Employer not to exceed twelve (12) months unless extended by mutual agreement with the union; (e) bereavement leave, pressing necessity leave, family responsibility leave, medical care leave; (f) jury duty and court service; (g) vacation leave; (h) leave for elected Public Office; (i) union leave; (j) all maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave; (k) education leave up to twenty-four (24) months. (l) Long-term disability or Income Replacement Benefits under the Automobile Insurance Act. (m) If an Employee’s hours of work are reduced due to a disability, full-time Employees shall maintain their pre- disability accrual rate. Other than full-time Employees shall accrue seniority as follows: (i) For those who have worked one (1) year or more: Paid Hours in Previous 52 Weeks = Seniority Hours Per 52 Week of Leave (ii) For other than full-time Employees who have worked for less than one (1) year:

  • Accumulation of Sick Leave The unused portion of an Employee's sick leave shall accrue for her future benefit, up to a maximum of one hundred and thirty (130) days.

  • Cessation of Accrual of Interest Except as provided in Sections 4.02(D), 4.03(E) or 5.02(D), interest will cease to accrue on each Note from, and including, the date that such Note is deemed, pursuant to this Section 2.18, to cease to be outstanding, unless there occurs a default in the payment or delivery of any cash or other property due on such Note.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.
