ARTICLE VEHICLE ALLOWANCE. Those employees who are required to use their automobile to perform duties for the Region and consequently must have a car available at all times and must provide for additional insurance coverage on their vehicle, should be paid at a flat rate. The categories and rates will be as established by the Regional Council and as amended from time to time. All other employees who would not normally require a car to perform their duties, should be reimbursed for occasional mileage at a rate established by Regional Council and as amended from time to time. The parties agree that this clause shall also cover payment for designated employees on temporary transfer who shall be paid mileage for all miles travelled in excess of his normal home-work trip. Employees who are required to use their automobile will be designated by the Department Head or his delegate on a list which will indicate their appropriate mileage category.

ARTICLE VEHICLE ALLOWANCE. Employees requested to use their own vehicles for business purposes or when traveling between two (2) schools shall be reimbursed according to the rate as set by the Employer and consistent with Board policy. ARTICLE VEHICLE ALLOWANCE. (a) Those nurses who are required to use their automobile to perform their duties for the Health Department and consequently must have a car available at all times and must provide for additional insurance coverage on their vehicle, shall be paid at a flat rate on the excess travel. The nurse will be assigned a vehicle allowance as follows based on the expected yearly kilometers to be driven: Kilometer ranges are for the expected annual travel and advances are issued for the minimum kilometers in the category range. Payments are calculated at for the first kilometers and for each kilometer traveled beyond kilometers. A year end conciliation is required for every employee receiving an advance. The adjustment for additional kilometers traveled or recovery of an overpayment must be completed by the end of January of the following calendar year. If an employee terminates employment, or is removed from the vehicle advance system, the reconciliation is due at that time. If no travel records are received, the total amount of the advance will be recovered. Advances shall be paid on the second pay period of the month. The reimbursement is for the use of personal vehicles only. Reimbursement for parking charges and other travel expenses shall be submitted on a separate expense claim.
