ARTICLE WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE. When a member is absent by reason of an illness or injury occasioned by or as a result of duty and where an award is made by the shall, in addition to the receive such further amount so as to provide that the total payment to the member shall approximate but not exceed the net pay such member might otherwise have received had not been absent. ARTICLE WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE. It is agreed that when a member is injured during the performance of duties and is unable to perform such duties and has applied for Workplace Safety and Insurance Local Page benefits, the employee will be placed on sick leave until such time as approval of the Workplace Safety and Insurance claim is rendered. During this period, the employee will be receiving the amount of per cent (85%) plus an five per cent (5%) granted by the Board to equal ninety percent (90%) of the net pay, provided the employee has leave days to credit. Upon Workplace Safety and Insurance Board approval, the employee's sick leave reserve shall be adjusted in accordance with the Workplace Safety and Insuranceaward and the employee will continue to receive payments in accordance with that award plus the additional five per cent (5%) granted by the Board. If the Workplace Safety and Insurance claim is rejected, the employee will be placed on sick leave provided the employee has sick leave days to credit, and salary will be adjusted accordingly to the first day of the absence. the employee not have sufficient sick credits the employee may be granted an advance of sick leave credits up to thirty (30) days in accordance with the Cumulative Sick Leave Plan. ARTICLE WORKPLACE SAFETY AND INSURANCE. (a) It is agreed that when a teacher is injured during the performance of duties and is unable to perform such duties and receives approval for a temporary disability payment under the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the teacher will receive from the Board an amount which, after all deductions have been made, is equal to what the teacher would otherwise have received. A deduction from the teacher's sick leave credits will be made at a rate equal to the top-up, not to exceed a deduction of sick leave credits per day of absence. Teachers who receive payment under Subsection (a) will receive the Board's contribution to benefits.
