Workplace Safety Insurance. 6.1 For the purposes of Article 41.2 (Workplace Safety & Insurance) of the Central Collective Agreement “sixty-five (65) working days” shall be deemed to be (471¼ or 520) hours.
Workplace Safety Insurance. 20.1 Each member covered by this Agreement who is absent on account of injuries received while on duty and who is receiving a pension, salary or wage award from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board shall be entitled to be paid the difference between the pension wage and salary award from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and his or her current net salary as long as such member remains in the employ of the Niagara Police Board. This shall be applied such that the combination of any WSIB salary or wage award plus the employer top-up shall, in total, equal the net pay of the member's current salary. The non- economic loss portion of any WSIB pension payments shall not be considered as being a salary or wage award, and hence shall not form part of these calculations. Any member who does not comply with the provisions of the Workplace Safety & Insurance Act or Regulations thereto and subsequently receives a salary or wage award or an amount less than the prevailing maximum payable, due to such non-compliance, shall not receive from the Niagara Police Board the difference between the wage or salary award paid by the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board and his or her current net salary. For the purpose of this Clause, net pay shall be the pay for the rank of the member as shown in Appendix "A" less those deductions required under Government Statutes, pension plans and as provided for in this Agreement.
Workplace Safety Insurance. (a) An employee injured while and as a result of performing his/her Company’s duties will suffer no loss of basic pay on the day he/she was injured providing in the opinion of the Company or a doctor the employee was unable to continue working.
Workplace Safety Insurance. The University pays premiums annually to the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) based on an amount per $100.00 of assessable earnings for each employee in accordance with the rates set annually by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board provides compensation and/or medical aid to employees who, as a result of an accident related to their work, are injured to the extent that they experience a loss of time from work. Employees who suffer an injury at work must immediately report this injury to their supervisors who in turn must immediately report this injury to the Health and Safety Office (Department of Risk Management). This procedure should be followed whether or not the injury is severe enough to warrant loss of time from work and/or medical aid. A report is filed with WSIB immediately. Such a procedure aids in the establishment of claims at a later date, if necessary, and in the correction of safety hazards in the University work place. The University is required to pay fines to WSIB for late filing of accident reports.
Workplace Safety Insurance. All Nurses included in this Agreement shall continue to be covered by the provisions of the Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Act and shall be subject to the rules and regulations of the aforementioned Act.

Workplace Safety Insurance. Each employee who is injured in the course of duty shall have the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board salary awards supplemented from sick leave account to provide for payment of full salary. In the event that an employee does not wish to use sick leave credits to supplement the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board award, the employee must give immediate notice in writing to the Human Resources Department. After the expiration of any Workplace Safety and Insurance Board award, the employee may use the current year's sick leave or accumulated credits up to the limit previously established. It should be understood that there shall be no pyramiding or compounding of Board benefits with any other internal or external benefit. An employee on sick leave shall not be able to earn an amount of income greater than that which the employee earned while actively at work.
Workplace Safety Insurance. If a claim for Workplace Safety Insurance benefits is made by the Employer on behalf of a full-time employee, said full-time employee may, in return for turning over all monies received for said benefits, elect to receive full salary from the full-time employee’s accumulated sick bank until such time as the claim is adjudicated in the full-time employee’s favour. At such time, the full-time employee will be entitled to assign the Workplace Safety Insurance benefits to the Employer in exchange for bi-weekly advances equivalent to the Workplace Safety Insurance entitlement. In addition, the qualifying full- time employee will be entitled to full restoration of the sick bank to the pre-accident amount.
Workplace Safety Insurance. (i) When an Employee has submitted a claim to the Workplace Safety & Insurance Employer, the Employer will advance the Employee a net payment* during the absence and the Employee's accumulated sick leave account will be charged one
