ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. A. ASSIGNMENTS The quality of the program of instruction is the primary consideration in the assignment of professional personnel in the Ferndale School District. Personnel shall be assigned on the basis of the needs of the District. The process will, as a rule, take into account the qualifications of individual personnel and their expressed desires. To this end, criteria for assessing employee qualifications for specific assignments will include the following: 1. Regulations of the State Board 2. Teaching certificate(s) 3. Employee's major or minor fields of study 4. Qualifications in special areas 5. Previous successful teaching experience as evidenced by evaluations. B. DEFINITIONS Reassignment K-5 – Change in grade level, including combination classes. Reassignment 6-12 – Change in teaching assignment to include more than one (1) course outside of current department(s). Reassignment K-12 – Change in teaching assignment that requires movement from one level to another (elementary school, middle school, high school). Transfer – Change of teaching location from one building to another. Voluntary – A transfer or change in assignment when the employee initiates the change. Involuntary – A transfer or change in assignment when the employee does not initiate the change.

ASSIGNMENTS, TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. 6-1 The Board, through its agents, shall make all assignments, transfers and reassignments of administrators and their duties. 6-2 During the school year, notice of all open administrative positions in the Hillside Schools shall be posted in all schools and sent to the Association President. The posting notice shall set forth the qualifications for the position and the minimum salary the Board expects to pay. Individuals interested in applying for the position shall do so in the manner prescribed in the notice within fifteen (15) days after the date of the notice. No permanent appointment to a position posted shall be made until fifteen (15) days after the posting notice has been issued. 6-3 During the summer period when school is not regularly in session, administrators who desire to apply for any certified administrative positions shall submit their names to the Superintendent, together with the position(s) for which they desire to apply, and an address where they can be reached during the summer. During the summer months, all administrative vacancies shall be posted to each administrator’s voice mail box.

The Administration's effectiveness is directly related to its ability to implement the principle of "best fit." To the degree that the Administration is able to match applicants to positions requiring the abilities and characteristics possessed by these applicants, only then will the Administration, and thus the schools, be functioning most effectively.

Seniority may be a factor in evaluating the transfer of an employee. Requests for transfer may be renewed annually. Tentative assignments shall be announced with the issuance of salary statements and/or contracts.

  • Assignments and Transfers 18.1 Any assignment by either Party to any entity of any right, obligation or duty, or of any other interest hereunder, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of the other Party shall be void. The assignee must provide evidence of a Commission approved certification to provide Telecommunications Service in each state that OneTone is entitled to provide Telecommunications Service. After BellSouth’s consent, the Parties shall amend this Agreement to reflect such assignments and shall work cooperatively to implement any changes required due to such assignment. All obligations and duties of any Party under this Agreement shall be binding on all successors in interest and assigns of such Party. No assignment or delegation hereof shall relieve the assignor of its obligations under this Agreement in the event that the assignee fails to perform such obligations. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in this Section, OneTone shall not be permitted to assign this Agreement in whole or in part to any entity unless either (1) OneTone pays all bills, past due and current, under this Agreement, or (2) OneTone’s assignee expressly assumes liability for payment of such bills. 18.2 In the event that OneTone desires to transfer any services hereunder to another provider of Telecommunications Service, or OneTone desires to assume hereunder any services provisioned by BellSouth to another provider of Telecommunications Service, such transfer of services shall be subject to separately negotiated rates, terms and conditions.
