VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. 12.3.1 A listing of tentative vacancies for which the District will interview shall be posted annually in each school on or about March 30 and April 15. The transfer or reassignment closing date will be April 30. Those employees applying within this window shall receive placement prior to consideration of outside applicants.

VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. A. 1. Employees who desire a change in assignment or who desire to transfer to another building may file a written statement of such desire with the Superintendent not later than January 30th. Such statement shall include the school and/or department to which he/she desires to be assigned and the school or schools to which he/she desires to be transferred, in order of preference.

Employees who wish to be considered for voluntary transfers or reassignments (for the same job classification and number of hours) shall submit a District Transfer/Reassignment Form to the Human Resources Office. In the determination of requests for voluntary reassignments and/or transfers, the wishes of the individual employee shall be honored to the extent that they do not conflict with the instructional requirements and best interests of the school system. In making such determination, employees on tenure shall be given preference; and when all other factors are substantially equal, length of service in the Xxxxxxx County School System shall be a seriously considered factor. D. If an employee's request for a voluntary transfer has been granted, the Board shall be under no obligation to consider a subsequent request for transfer by said employee for one (1) year from the effective date of transfer. E. If the educator's request for transfer is denied, the educator shall, upon request, receive a written explanation of the reasons therefore from the Superintendent or the Superintendent's designee.
VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. 11.3.1 Current employees on a continuing contract may request a voluntary transfer to a bargaining unit position in another building or program by February 1 of each year. 11.3.1.1 Human Resources will notify employees of the process or form to use no later than January 15 of each year. 11.3.1.2 The voluntary transfer request list will be used until the end of the business day on the first workday of August each year. 11.3.1.3 Employees on the voluntary transfer list who hold the appropriate certification will be granted an interview or be personally contacted by the hiring administrator. 11.3.1.4 Employees on the voluntary transfer list who are offered a position for which they indicated interest and choose to decline the position will be removed from the voluntary transfer list. 11.3.1.5 Employees who do not place their name on the voluntary transfer list by the deadline may apply for any open positions using the District’s application system. 11.3.2 The Superintendent shall, based on their determination of the needs of the District, make all decisions concerning assignments to fill vacancies or effect transfers and reassignments. In filling vacancies, the Superintendent shall consider the qualifications and then the preferences of every volunteer for such positions, but the Superintendent’s decision shall be at their discretion and shall not be subject to grievance or arbitration. 11.3.3 When a request for a voluntary transfer has been denied, the teacher affected may request a written explanation of the reasons for such denial from the Superintendent. Such request, if denied, shall be satisfied by an oral explanation given to the employee in the presence of a third person acceptable to both sides.

Employees who desire a change in working assignment or who desire to transfer to another building may file a written statement of such desire with the Superintendent not later than April 1 of the academic year preceding the academic year for which the change is desired. Such statement shall include the assignment to which the employee desires to be assigned and the location of school to which he desires to be transferred in the order of preference. Employees who are unsuccessful in having their transfer or reassignment honored shall indicate in writing to the Superintendent each year if they continue to desire a change.

VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS. The Superintendent shall assign all teachers to their specific positions, which shall be within the teacher’s licensure. Teachers who desire a change in grade and/or subject assignment or who desire to transfer to another building shall file a written statement of such desire with the Superintendent. Such statement shall include the grade and/or subject to which the teacher desires to be assigned and the school or schools to which the teacher desires to be assigned, in order of preference.
VOLUNTARY TRANSFERS AND REASSIGNMENTS a. Voluntary transfers and reassignments are discouraged during the period from August 1 through September 30 to facilitate staff stability in preparing for the school year. However, if an employee has been notified that a reduction in hours may occur in their current position the employee shall be given priority consideration for an interview for a different position or assignment. A request for a transfer or reassignment during this period will be granted only if the site administrator at the site from which the employee is to transfer or be reassigned determines that such transfer or reassignment can be accommodated without a significant impact on the staffing needs of the site and upon the employee documenting that the requested transfer will significantly benefit the employee (reduce commuting distance, facilitate child care, significantly increase appointed hours, etc). Transfers and reassignments during the remainder of the year shall be accommodated, upon an offer of employment from the site administrator where the vacancy exists, subject to unusual circumstances that would justify a delay or denial of such action when the site administrator at the site from which the employee is to transfer or be reassigned documents that the proposed transfer would significantly affect the programmatic needs at the site and the administrator cannot, with reasonable effort, identify an alternative approach to staffing that would address these programmatic needs within a reasonable period of time.
