Transfers and Reassignments. Nothing in this section shall in any way detract from the University's goals related to affirmative action and diversity.
Transfers and Reassignments. 9.1 Teachers who desire a different assignment or transfer to another school or position within the county shall file a request at the time the position is advertised following procedures developed by the Human Resources Department. 9.2 Teachers requesting a transfer as outlined in Article 9.1 shall be interviewed prior to the hiring of a new employee, subject to the following condition: If there are more than five (5) reassignment/transfer requests on file for a specific school, the principal of that school shall review files of all requests and choose at least five (5) qualified and certified applicants to interview. The appropriate administrator shall notify the teacher requesting transfer as to the disposition of the teacher request. The appropriate administrator shall notify the teacher requesting a transfer seven (7) days after the filling of the position. The administrator shall be required to hold no more than one (1) interview with the same teacher during the validity period of the teacher's reassignment or transfer request. The administrator will give consideration to the teacher request when a vacancy exists and provided a previous interview has occurred. 9.3 The voluntary reassignment and/or transfer of a teacher will be subject to the following conditions: A. Between April 15 and August 1, the fifth business day before the last teacher day of the current school year and five (5) business days before the first School-based Inservice day of the next school year, transfers will require only the receiving principal's signature. B. Between August 2 and April 14, transfers will require both the sending and receiving principals' signatures. Outside of this time frame, the receiving principal shall obtain from the sending principal a willingness to release the teacher prior to interviews or consideration. 9.4 Involuntary transfers of teachers from one school/work site to another will follow the procedures below. A. When a reduction in the total number of teachers at a school/work site is necessary (i.e. school closings, rezoning, opening of new schools) but a District wide reduction in force (layoff) has not been declared or when a program or programs is/are to be reduced or eliminated at a school/work site. 1. The Superintendent of Schools/designee will determine the area(s) of certification that need to be reduced and the number of teachers in each area that will need to be transferred. 2. Transfers and Reassignments. Transfer shall mean the movement of the employee to a different school or worksite. Reassignment shall mean the change of assignment for an employee within a school or worksite. Voluntary transfer or voluntary reassignment shall mean an employee-initiated transfer or reassignment. Involuntary transfer or involuntary reassignment shall mean an employer-initiated transfer or reassignment of an employee. 1. Instructional personnel who wish to be considered for transfer shall complete their Skyward application for each open position. 2. Instructional personnel properly certificated and qualified for an opening shall be considered for transfer as requested. 3. If a vacancy occurs during the student year, the vacancy may be filled via transfer request procedures for the following year or when a qualified applicant is available to cover the position. All vacancies throughout the calendar year shall be listed on the district website and e-mailed to all instructional staff. 4. A list of known and/or anticipated vacancies shall be posted in each school when the vacancy occurs by school with grade or subject area. When a vacancy is posted it shall remain posted for a minimum of three (3) business days. 5. When more than one applicant is properly certificated and meets the transfer criteria, seniority in Okeechobee County will be a primary consideration. 6. All voluntary transfers shall be subject to the approval of the receiving principals. 7. All job postings shall be e-mailed to the Association office at the time of posting. 8. Voluntary transfer requests shall be given priority consideration over new employees. 9. Instructional personnel applying for vacancies at any given school site who meet requirements as listed in Guideline 2 shall be granted one face-to-face interview by the principal and/or supervisor per school year. This interview shall apply for all positions that may open at that site for any given year as specified in DD.1. of this Article. This guideline covers only those instructional personnel who have been reappointed for the following school year. 10. Involuntary transfers and involuntary reassignments in teaching assignments deemed necessary by the administration or the Board shall be made only after the principal has met with the instructional employee to state the reasons for such transfers or changes in assignments including, but not limited to, the following : a. For the purpose of this Section a transfer shall be defined as: a. a change from one work unit or work facility to another work unit or work facility in the same Department/Agency without any change in classification; or b. a substantial change in duties without a change of work unit or facility as long as the requirements for appointment are not substantially different. 2. a. An employee seeking a transfer to a different work unit shall submit a written transfer request to his/her Appointing Authority or designee prior to posting.
Transfers and Reassignments. 8.4.1 Transfers/reassignments shall take place on the recommendation of the supervisor with the approval of the Superintendent. 8.4.1.1 A transfer is defined as movement by a present employee to a position in the same job classification in another building or unit. 8.4.1.2 A reassignment is defined as a change in job responsibilities which occurs within a building or unit. 8.4.2 An employee may be transferred/reassigned to meet the needs of the District. 8.4.3 Sufficient time, as determined by the immediate supervisor, shall be allowed to affect the transfer/reassignment. The employee shall be provided official written notification by the Office for Human Resources prior to the transfer. 8.4.4 The employee shall be entitled to a conference to discuss reasons for the involuntary transfer/reassignment with the immediate supervisor and the Chief Human Resources Officer within five (5) working days of receiving the notification. The employee may be accompanied by a representative of his/her choice. 8.4.5 If an employee has received three (3) annual evaluations and is transferred/reassigned to a position with the same job description, the employee will not be placed in a probationary status. 8.4.6 When an employee has three (3) years of district service and fails to successfully complete his/her probationary period in a new position with a different job description, the employee will be considered and interviewed for any available position in the district for which he/she is qualified as determined by the Office for Human Resources. 8.4.7 If a position is not immediately available, the employee will be placed on a leave without pay. When vacancies occur within the district, the employee shall be notified and shall be considered and interviewed prior to the posting of the position. This process shall continue for up to one (1) calendar year. Failure of the employee to accept the first position for which he/she is qualified will terminate any further obligation on the part of the district.

Transfers and Reassignments. Transfers: Defined as intra-District movement between non-contiguous campus locations. Such locations are: 1. Friday Harbor High School/Middle School campus 2. Friday Harbor Elementary School campus 3. Stuart Island Campus When one or more grade levels move en-masse to another campus, the transfer language shall not apply. Reassignment: Defined as intra-campus movement from one grade level to another or from one teaching subject to another within a teacher's area(s) of certification.
Transfers and Reassignments. 11.01 All known instructional and administrative vacancies will be posted at the county office and sub-office and on the Xxxxxx County Schools District website at least five (5) days prior to the filling of such vacancies. 11.02 Teachers who desire a change in grade and/or subject assignment, or who desire to transfer to another class, building or position shall file a written statement of such desire with his Principal or Superintendent. 11.03 Teachers who have requested transfer or reassignment shall be notified in writing of the administrations action on said transfer or reassignment as soon as action is taken. 11.04 The Superintendent may, when deemed in the best interest of the school system, recommend to the Board an involuntary transfer of a Teacher. Prior notice of the impending transfer will be communicated to the Teacher, and a conference with the Superintendent may be scheduled prior to the final recommendation. A Teacher who is being considered for an involuntary transfer for the start of a new school year shall be given written notice twenty (20) calendar days prior to the first teacher work day of the new school year. If it is necessary to make an involuntary transfer during the school year, the Teacher(s) being considered shall be given a minimum of ten (10) calendar day’s written notice. A Teacher will be provided the opportunity to apply for a voluntary transfer prior to consideration of an involuntary transfer to another school.
