Association Assistance. In the application and administration of this Article, the Medical Center shall, at all times, have the right to call upon the Association for assistance and joint interpretation or discussion of any problem which affects a nurse or a group of nurses. The Association shall honor such request promptly and seek, in conjunction with the Medical Center, a harmonious solution to such problems as may arise.
Association Assistance. -86 At each step of the grievance procedure, the employee may request the presence of the Association Grievance Officer. ORAL STEP -87 If an employee believes he/she has a problem in connection with his/her employment, he/she shall discuss it with his/her immediate supervisor.
Association Assistance. A full-time, regular part-time or part-time Librarian or Librarian Trainee shall have the right to be represented by an Association representative at any step of the grievance procedure. However, nothing herein contained shall be construed as prohibiting a full- time, regular part-time or part-time Librarian or Librarian Trainee from submitting and appealing a grievance without the assistance of, or representation by, the Association. In such situations, the Deputy Director or designee (at Level I) or the Library Director or designee (at Level II), as the case may be, will meet and discuss the matter with Association representatives prior to making the adjustment.

The Parties recognize that, except for the initial supervisor/employee meeting at the beginning of the school year when the performance appraisal plan is reviewed, all subsequent performance meetings are generally not formal discussions to which the requirements of Section 3 of Article 6 are applicable. Nevertheless, the Agency recognizes that in many instances attendance of an employee’s Association representative may facilitate the meeting, contribute to improving the employee’s performance, and/or assist the employee in understanding the performance issues. As such, the Agency official may allow for the presence of an Association representative.

Association Assistance. The Board acknowledges the right of the Association to assist a grievant at any level of this grievance procedure if it obtains the consent of the grievant. The Association acknowledges the right of any member of the Administration to receive assistance as desired in any step of the grievance procedure. Failure of any employee or the Association to act on a grievance within the prescribed time limits shall prohibit the grievant from proceeding to the next step. The time limits, however, may be extended by mutual written consent. At any stage of the grievance procedure, the grievant may be represented by a representative of his or her choice.
