Athletic Supervision a) The jobs for the number of supervisors needed for each sport will be posted in each building: Fall sports by September 1: Winter sports by November 1: and Spring sports by March 1. All instructional bargaining unit members who wish to apply for the position of supervisor for the entire season of any sport may do so. The Athletic Director will select supervisors of games that are scheduled prior to the beginning of the school year. b) All supervisors will follow the Supervision Responsibilities for Athletic Events given to them in writing by the Athletic Director. A meeting with all selected personnel will be held prior to the season’s first game. Failure to meet any of the written expectations, failure to report for scheduled supervisory duties or failure to provide a substitute for the scheduled duty may result in a mid-season replacement and will result in a one calendar year exclusion from supervisory duty. c) The Athletic Director will interview and select personnel for the entire sport season. Consideration shall be given to all bargaining unit members based on the following criteria: • Ability to command respect and/or project authority • Skill at enforcing designated supervisory responsibilities • Dependability • Experience No bargaining unit member, except a previously acting substitute, may act as a supervisor for a second sport until all interested instructional bargaining unit members have been offered and declined a supervisory position. When it is determined by the Athletic Director that a bus chaperone is needed, that position will be posted in each building.
Athletic Supervision. 12.7.1 The District and Unit agree that athletics is a primary support for student learning that builds interest and attracts students to our district. The District and Unit agrees that supervision of athletic events outside the contract day are necessary for student, staff and community safety as well as a requirement to participate in the State of California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) that federation regulating high school sports. The District and Unit agree that supervision within a small district is cumbersome on all and further understand the need to have members of the unit assist administration with athletic supervision. Therefore, this agreement is to encourage sharing the load between high school staff, site and district administration. The District and Unit agrees to the following procedures: 12.7.1.1 The District and Unit agrees that Certificated staff may cover Minor Games and school dances as the administrative designee. Minor Games are defined as Soccer, Softball, Baseball and some Volleyball/Basketball games where coverage does not warrant both an administrator and/or Xxxx of Students supervision. 12.7.1.2 The District and Unit agrees that Certificated staff could also serve as an additional site administrative designee at such games that warrant more supervision. 12.7.1.3 The District agrees to create an administrative designee sign-up schedule in sufficient time for each of the fall, winter and spring sports. 12.7.1.4 The District agrees to provide training to Certificated staff annually regarding the procedures and process needed for each administrative duty while serving as the administrative designee for game supervision.

Local schemes on training and development should enable authorities to attain their strategic objectives through development of their employees. Training and development provisions should be shaped to local requirements and take account of the full range of learning methods. Such an approach should enable access to learning for all employees. The needs of part time employees and shift workers need particular consideration. 3.2 Employees attending or undertaking required training are entitled to payment of normal earnings; all prescribed fees and other relevant expenses arising. Employees are also entitled to paid leave for the purpose of sitting for required examinations. When attending training courses outside contracted daily hours, part-time employees should be paid on the same basis as full- time employees. (Assistance for other forms of learning, for example that directed at individual development, will be locally determined). Some training can be very expensive and authorities may require repayment of all or part of the costs incurred should an employee leave the authority before a reasonable time period has expired. The authority's policy in this regard should be made explicit. 3.3 Objectives for training and development programmes should include the following: • To enable Councils to attain their strategic objectives via investment in their employees. • To promote equity of access to learning. • To encourage employees to develop their skills and level of responsibility to the maximum of their individual potential. • To widen and modernise the skills profile of employees to maximise their versatility, employability and so, job security. • To enable employees to raise productivity, quality and customer service in pursuit of sustainable improvement 3.4 Authorities should establish local partnership arrangements, to include recognised trade unions, to develop their local workforce development plans. 3.5 The NJC endorses partnership provision such as the "Return to Learn" scheme. Authorities and the recognised trade unions shall encourage and support employees taking on the statutory Union Learning Representative (ULR) role. This will include agreeing facilities and paid release in accordance with statutory provisions. ULRs should be enabled to play a full part in promoting and implementing local training and development programmes.

  • Faculty Selection, Supervision, and Evaluation A. Faculty for a dual credit course will be approved and employed by Hill College. The instructor must meet credential requirements of Hill College and minimum requirements as specified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Each faculty member assigned to teach an academic course will have a master’s degree plus 18 hours in the specific discipline. Technical course instructors will have at least an associate degree and three years of work experience in the related business or industry. B. Instructors teaching dual credit courses must meet the same standards, review, and approval procedures as full- time, regular Hill College faculty. C. Faculty for a dual credit course who are not a full-time faculty member of Hill College report directly to the appropriate Xxxx of Instruction for the pathway in which the course(s) is being taught. The college shall supervise and evaluate part-time faculty teaching dual credit courses using the same or comparable procedures used for full-time faculty employed by college. D. The performance appraisal process for dual credit instructors will be conducted by the immediate supervisor and reviewed by the second line supervisor prior to the appraisal interview with the employee. The dual credit faculty evaluation process will mirror the evaluation process used at the college for all full-time faculty members and will be done according to the college policy manual. All dual credit faculty will be periodically evaluated using the following means: 1) random classroom observation by the immediate supervisor of that discipline, 2) student evaluations and 3) self-evaluation. E. All Dual Credit faculty instructors will be supervised by the following means: i. When dual credit classes are visited during a classroom observation, supervisors will ask to see items such as the textbook, observe instruction and interaction with students, and request a class syllabus and a sample of class tests, quizzes, labs, and/or projects. ii. Dual Credit instructors are given a self-evaluation form and are asked to fill it out and return the form to their Hill College supervisor. iii. All dual credit instructors are given a master syllabus for the course. The master syllabus provides grading policy and student learning outcomes. iv. All dual credit instructors are required to participate in the assessment process. v. All dual credit instructors are required to certify rosters. vi. All dual credit instructors are required to submit final grades. F. Faculty teaching courses, which result in the award of college credit, will be regularly employed faculty members of Hill College. All faculty selected by Hill College to teach dual credit classes will be considered employees of Hill College and will be compensated by the college in accordance with Hill College policy, procedures, and guidelines. G. Applications for employment and official transcripts from each college or university attended MUST be submitted and approved prior to the start of classes. All paperwork will be kept on file at Hill College.
