Faculty Selection, Supervision, and Evaluation. A. Faculty for a dual credit course will be approved and employed by Hill College. The instructor must meet credential requirements of Hill College and minimum requirements as specified by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). Each faculty member assigned to teach an academic course will have a master’s degree plus 18 hours in the specific discipline. Technical course instructors will have at least an associate degree and three years of work experience in the related business or industry.
B. Instructors teaching dual credit courses must meet the same standards, review, and approval procedures as full- time, regular Hill College faculty.
C. Faculty for a dual credit course who are not a full-time faculty member of Hill College report directly to the appropriate Xxxx of Instruction for the pathway in which the course(s) is being taught. The college shall supervise and evaluate part-time faculty teaching dual credit courses using the same or comparable procedures used for full-time faculty employed by college.
D. The performance appraisal process for dual credit instructors will be conducted by the immediate supervisor and reviewed by the second line supervisor prior to the appraisal interview with the employee. The dual credit faculty evaluation process will mirror the evaluation process used at the college for all full-time faculty members and will be done according to the college policy manual. All dual credit faculty will be periodically evaluated using the following means: 1) random classroom observation by the immediate supervisor of that discipline, 2) student evaluations and 3) self-evaluation.
E. All Dual Credit faculty instructors will be supervised by the following means:
i. When dual credit classes are visited during a classroom observation, supervisors will ask to see items such as the textbook, observe instruction and interaction with students, and request a class syllabus and a sample of class tests, quizzes, labs, and/or projects.
ii. Dual Credit instructors are given a self-evaluation form and are asked to fill it out and return the form to their Hill College supervisor.
iii. All dual credit instructors are given a master syllabus for the course. The master syllabus provides grading policy and student learning outcomes.
iv. All dual credit instructors are required to participate in the assessment process.
v. All dual credit instructors are required to certify rosters.

These instructors must be regularly employed College faculty members or must meet the same College standards and approval procedures used to select faculty responsible for teaching the same courses at the College’s campuses such as Qualified School Instructors. Qualified School Instructors are School employees who are qualified to teach dual credit classes as described in Texas Education Code § 130.008(g). Regularly employed College faculty members and Qualified School Instructors are collectively identified as “Instructors” throughout this Agreement.

c. The College shall evaluate Instructors using the College’s evaluation process for regularly employed full-time faculty members or adjunct instructors.
d. The College shall require Instructors to participate in outcomes assessment activities.
e. The College shall require Instructors to participate in College professional development activities.
f. The College shall require Instructors to submit each semester for the College’s approval a syllabus for each course taught. The College shall require Instructors to post the approved syllabus no later than the seventh day after the first class day.
g. The College shall require Instructors to post a Curriculum Vitae no later than seven days after the first class day, and thereafter update as soon as practicable after the information changes.
h. The college may require Instructors to post each major course assignment and examination grade and calculate final course grades at the semester’s end utilizing the College Learning Management System’s gradebook features. The College shall require Instructors to complete all required end-of-course materials, such as grades, exams, and assignments related to grading materials.
i. The College shall require Instructors to complete all administrative tasks as required by the College department.
j. The College shall require Instructors’ official transcripts be received within the academic term’s first 30 days.
k. The College shall require other pertinent employment documents be submitted prior to the initial term and kept on file thereafter in the College Human Resources office...

As required by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), MCC controls all aspects of its educational programs. Each educational program for which academic credit is awarded is approved by the faculty and the administration. MCC will maintain qualified faculty who demonstrate the ability to deliver college-level course content with high quality and effectiveness.
2. In order to serve as an instructor of record at MCC, for freshman and sophomore level courses designed for transfer to a baccalaureate degree, faculty should have a minimum of a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the discipline in which they are teaching. In appropriate areas, work experience, professional licensure, and certification are also considered. Degrees and graduate credit hours held by faculty members, whether full time or part-time, must have been earned at a U. S. regionally accredited institution. 3. In order to serve as an instructor of record at MCC, for associate degree courses designed to prepare students specifically for employment in career and technical areas, instructors should have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the field, appropriate certification or professional licensure, and educational background and credentials at the same level as or higher than the certificate or degree being awarded in the program. Degrees and graduate credit hours held by faculty members, whether full time or part- time, must have been earned at a U. S. regionally accredited institution. 4. ISD faculty hired by MCC to teach dual credit courses at the high school site will follow the same application and screening procedures as adjuncts hired to teach at the MCC campus. Employment will only be awarded after approval by the appropriate division or program chair.
5. MCC shall evaluate instructors of college courses offered for dual credit using the same or comparable procedures used for faculty teaching at the MCC campus. Faculty teaching courses for dual credit shall comply with MCC's standards of instruction and policies. B. An instructor for a dual credit course who is not a full-time faculty member of Northeast Texas Community College reports directly to the Xxxx, Division Chair, or Program Director of the discipline in which the course(s) is being taught. The college shall supervise and evaluate part-time instructors teaching dual credit courses using the same or comparable procedures used for full-time faculty employed by college.
C. NTCC shall ensure that a dual credit course and the corresponding course offered at the main campus of the college are equivalent with respect to the curriculum, materials, instruction, and method/rigor of student evaluation as described in Goal 4 of the State of Texas Goals for Dual Credit. These standards must be upheld regardless of the student composition of the class.
