Administrative Duty. All teachers may be assigned administrative duty by the building principal during such times of the normal school day other than when teaching time, preparation time, or duty free lunch time have been scheduled. A teacher may be given the option of providing academic assistance for students in place of completing the assigned duty when possible based on coverage needs with no increase in salary. This voluntary academic assistance shall apply as follows:
Administrative Duty. (a) At any time during a period of paid injury leave or sick leave, an employee may request to work administrative duty. At the discretion of the Chief if work is available the employee maybe assigned to administrative duty within the Department within the employee’s restrictions and capabilities. The employee shall be required to perform such work during the hours of 8:00
a. m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The duration of administrative duty as the result of any one injury or illness shall not exceed 43 work days or portions thereof. An employee during paid injury or sick leave may be required by the Chief to participate in assigned training activities within the employee’s restrictions and capabilities and at such time and place as the training is provided or conducted.
(b) At any time during the period of restricted duty should the employee be fully recovered and capable of performing their regular duties, the period of restricted duty shall cease.
(c) Employees on forty (40) hour administrative duty who choose to utilize vacation benefits will have that benefit computed in accordance with the following example: A bargaining unit shift employee has used fifty percent (50%) of available vacation hours while on shift. If that employee is assigned to administrative duty, they will have available fifty percent (50%) of the vacation hours that are due a forty (40) hour per week employee of equal seniority. If the employee uses half of those available vacation hours while assigned administrative duty, when the employee is reassigned to shift work they will have twenty-five percent (25%) of the total vacation hours available as a shift employee.
(d) Employees on administrative duty who request vacation leave, will have that leave granted as requested, unless department needs dictate otherwise.
(e) Employees on forty (40) hour administrative duty will not be eligible for Xxxxx days.
(f) Administrative duty employees shall not be considered as filling positions under Article 9.
Administrative Duty. Nurses assigned to administrative duty shall be relieved of his or her hospital duties during the time he or she is on such administrative duty and, if such duty requires that the Nurse be relieved of his or her full twelve (12) hour shift, such Nurse shall be paid for the full twelve (12) hours of such shift.
Administrative Duty. In schools that do not have an assistant principal or second administrator, a teacher shall be designated to perform administrative duties. Teachers may volunteer but shall not be required to assume administrative duties in the absence of the principal or other immediate supervisor.
Administrative Duty. Principals shall have the right to assign a teacher to administrative duty when the teacher’s schedule of assigned periods includes “administrative assignments.” Examples of such assignments are as follows: study hall supervision; building supervision, including halls and restrooms; playground supervision; lunch supervision; supervision of internal suspension centers; and academic counseling of individual students or small groups of students. Whenever possible, schools shall endeavor to staff internal suspension centers with staff members hired for that purpose. When the building level planning team and the principal determine that a plan for such supervision is infeasible given the school’s resources, administrative assignment of teachers to supervision of internal suspension centers shall be made first from those teachers who volunteer for this duty in lieu of other administrative assignments. The UTM and the Board agree to impact bargain the implementation of the AVID program as it pertains to “academic counseling of individual students or small groups of students.”
Administrative Duty. The Central Valley Board is authorized and empowered to supervise, manage, and direct the planning, financing, construction, operation, maintenance, enlargement and improvement of the Central Valley Facility and to proceed with the acquisition of real property to be obtained for use in connection with the same and to acquire all appropriate insurance coverage, personal property and equipment to be utilized in connection with same and to employ the professional services of such professional firms and/or individuals and/or entities as shall be deemed necessary by the Central Valley Board for the accomplishing of its purposes. The Board shall have the ability to use any legal form of debt financing to achieve the objectives provided herein. The Board shall be empowered to employ and fix the terms and compensation of all employees of Central Valley and of those providing professional services to Central Valley. The Board shall be empowered to set compensation for Board Members. The Board shall also be empowered to take any necessary and proper procedures before any administrative boards or agencies.
Administrative Duty.
(a) At any time during a period of extended off duty injury or illness sick leave (“extended” defined as a period of 3 shifts or more), an employee may request to work administrative duty. At the discretion of the Chief, if work is available, the employee maybe assigned to administrative duty within the Department and within the employee’s restrictions and capabilities. The employee shall be required to perform such work during the hours of 8:00
a. m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The duration of administrative duty as the result of any one injury or illness shall not exceed 60 calendar days from the date the member is assigned to administrative duty. An employee during paid extended sick leave may request from the Chief to participate in assigned training activities within the employee’s restrictions and capabilities and at such time and place as the training is provided or conducted.
(b) On Duty Injury or Illness Whenever an eligible employee suffers any injury or illness in the line of duty which causes him to be unable to perform his duties he shall be eligible for benefits pursuant to the Public Employee Disability Act (“PEDA”; 5 ILCS 345/et.seq.). However, these same employees may be assigned to work Administrative Duty by the Fire Chief within their restrictions and capabilities. Such Administrative Duty time tolls the one calendar year benefit under PEDA which is three hundred and sixty-five (365) calendar days. For the purpose of this agreement PEDA benefits will otherwise be equal to 2713 hours if the employee is on shift; or, a total of 2080 hours if the employee is on a Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm schedule. The analysis of the PEDA benefit will be determined by either an hourly or calendar day analysis to ensure that the employee gets the longest assessment of said PEDA benefit time. An employee will be assigned to work Administrative Duty on shift, only on their normal workdays, for up to 12 hours per day. Nothing will preclude the Chief or his designee to release a member from Administrative Duty early for the day, if appropriate. Also, verified medical appointments, visitations and physical therapy on the assigned duty day and the remainder of the 12- hour shift shall count towards the hours worked for that Administrative Duty day.
