Attendance at Professional Conferences. When administrative and supervisory personnel receive approval to attend professional conferences, the Board will reimburse them for the expenses associated with registration, travel, lodging and meals as approved and as funding permits.

Attendance at Professional Conferences. Employees may be allowed to attend professional conferences as authorized by the Director if such conferences are considered by the Director to be for VASE educational purposes. The reasonable expenses of such conferences for which the employee does not receive college credit shall be paid, including food, lodging and travel, based upon reimbursable expenses submitted to the Director. Reasonable expenses will not include payment as overtime and/or for reimbursement at a daily rate for days that the employee would not have otherwise been scheduled to work. The Director may agree to allow the employee to trade work days when the conference or workshop is held on a regularly non-scheduled work day. Non-certified support employees shall be allowed to attend any Vermilion County Schools employees' workshop that is designed for them.
Attendance at Professional Conferences. Professional Employees, with the approval of the Superintendent, will be allowed to attend conferences/activities of an educational nature.
Attendance at Professional Conferences. 10.01 Any bargaining unit member desiring to attend a professional conference or convention shall submit to the Superintendent a written request to do so on Request for Attendance at a Professional Meeting form. (Appendix B) Said request shall be submitted no later than ten (10) school days prior to the conference or convention and shall state the school days, if any, which the person will miss by attending the conference or convention. The applicant shall provide a written summary as to the professional nature of the conference or convention, an estimate of expenses and the proposed method of travel. If said request is approved, the Board will indicate which expenses of the following, in addition to regular salary and the cost of a substitute teacher, it will pay: A. Registration fees. B. The cost of meals, lodging and incidentals will be reimbursed according to the following schedule: Meal Reimbursement – Employees are to claim actual meal expenses up to amounts authorized. Lunch will be reimbursed for any all-day conferences. Receipts are required for meals and will be reimbursed within the limits set forth below. No meals are to be charged if provided as part of the conference registration fee. Breakfast - $ 5.00 Lunch - $10.00 Dinner - $20.00 All employee reimbursements shall be made by ACH. C. Transportation via the method approved by the Superintendent. If the approved method of transportation is automobile, mileage will be paid at the current IRS mileage rate using the Board approved standard mileage allowance (Appendix H). Car pooling is encouraged and may be required. In no case shall the transportation cost by automobile exceed the cost of the same trip by train or airplane coach. D. None of the above that are reimbursed by another group. E. If an employee is required to attend a professional conference or convention, all costs will be reimbursed. To be eligible for reimbursement of the above expenses, the person attending the professional conference or convention must submit a statement of all expenses which shall be accompanied by the original receipts for every expense within thirty (30) days of the completion of the conference or convention. A written summary of the meeting attended may be requested. 10.02 Duly authorized delegates or elected officers shall be permitted to attend meetings of the OEA or NEA or NEOEA without loss of pay. Attendance at Professional Conferences. 10.1 Each member will be allocated funds at least once every 3 years to attend a national level conference of his/her choosing that aligns with job responsibilities. (Selection will be based on alphabetical thirds)Upon approval from the Board the member will receive reimbursement for the expenses associated with registration, travel, lodging and meals up to a maximum of $1,500 per conference. All receipts, etc. must be submitted for reimbursement no later than 15 days following the members return to work. The current A & S group shall be divided into three groups in which each group is assigned a number 1, 2, or 3. Group 1 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2014-2015 school year and every 3rd year after that. Group 2 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2015-2016 school year and every 3rd year after that. Group 3 is eligible for reimbursement during the 2016-2017 school year and every 3rd year after that. Every member will remain in their assigned group for as long as they are A & S members. When a member leaves the group, their spot will be assigned to the new member. In the event that new members are added without losing members, the new members will be added to the smallest list first and then systematically to list 1, then 2, then 3. 10.2 Unit members will be reimbursed annually up to $300 for expenses associated with state level conferences associated with their areas of responsibilities. All receipts, etc. must be submitted for reimbursement no later than 15 days following the members return to work.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • PRE-JOB CONFERENCE a) The Employer shall notify the union that a project has been awarded to the Employer following the award. Prior to the start of each project, a pre-job conference shall be held to determine all site-specific issues as outlined in the Agreement. This conference may be conducted via telephone, through a scheduled meeting or by some other practical means as agreed to by the parties. b) A copy of the pre-job conference report shall be provided to the Employer, the Union and the Job Xxxxxxx (s). A copy shall also be posted on the bulletin board(s) at the jobsite.

  • Conference Attendance The Federation will be entitled to five (5) person days per year release time for designated Federation representatives to attend conferences. All conference expenses will be the responsibility of the Federation, unless funding is requested and approved through regular District processes for conference attendance.

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences A. Unit member shall be available at mutually arranged times during the regular school day to confer with parents regarding learning difficulties, student progress and/or behavioral problems a student may be experiencing. Unit members are encouraged to arrange a meeting or conference with parents before or after the regular school day if both time and place are mutually agreeable. B. In the event that a bargaining unit member does not communicate with a parent on the established date for parent unit member conferences as per the calendar adopted by the Board, a reasonable attempt to contact that parent will be made. A reasonable attempt constitutes a phone call or email. If that contact is not returned, the bargaining unit member shall not be obligated to make further contact.

  • Conferences At the request of the State or the Engineer, conferences shall be provided at the Engineer's office, the office of the State, or at other locations designated by the State. These conferences shall also include evaluation of the Engineer's services and work when requested by the State.

On January 30, 2015 the Florida Bar Board of Governors approved “Professionalism Expectations.” In keeping with the vision and mission of Citizens as entrusted by the Florida legislature, Citizens expects all attorneys and legal professionals acting on its behalf, or on behalf of Citizens’ insureds, to adhere to the letter and spirit of Professional Conduct as promoted by the Florida Bar’s Standing Committee on Professionalism expressed within this document.

  • Informal Conference An employee against whom the disciplinary action is being considered may be requested to attend an informal conference with the immediate supervisor, his/her designee and/or a Human Resources Administrator prior to official written notification or any recommended disciplinary action. At such conference, the employee shall be informed orally of the specific disciplinary action being considered as well as the reasons therefore and be given an opportunity to respond thereto. At such a conference, the employee may represent himself/herself and/or be represented by a union representative. Holding such an informal conference is discretionary with the District and the failure to do so shall not invalidate any disciplinary action taken pursuant to this regulation.

  • Conference Committee The Conference Committee shall meet at least quarterly. It shall consist of the three elected representatives of the nurses plus one clinical unit representative appointed by the nurse bargaining unit, and an Association staff member, and five representatives of the Employer to include the Chief Nursing Executive and/or designee and one member of the Employer’s contract negotiating team. The purpose of the Conference Committee is to act in an advisory capacity to xxxxxx problem solving through communications between the Employer and nurses in the bargaining unit and deal with matters of nursing practice and general concern to the parties. Major organizational or policy changes in the nursing department that have a direct bearing on nursing practice or working conditions shall be an appropriate subject for discussion by the Conference Committee. Attendance at Conference Committee will be considered work time and will be paid at the regular rate of pay. A general group “grievance” as defined in this Agreement coming before the Conference Committee which is not resolved by the parties may be submitted in accordance with Article 18 at Step Two of the Grievance Procedure.
