CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN. The scope of work includes design engineering services for streets, bike trails, storm drains, storm drain channels, land survey, city facilities, and all related services. The consultant shall also provide design and specifications for traffic signals, signing, striping, signal modifications, detour plans, and traffic control where required by the scope of work. Consultant shall prepare construction documents including but not limited to providing the following: • Ground and/or aerial surveys as necessary • Infrastructure surveys • 3D modeling and photo/video simulations • Cross sections • Right-of-way engineering research/calculations • Legal descriptions and mapping • Geotechnical and material investigations and reports • Hydrology and hydraulic reports • Processing design approval with other regulatory agenciesDrainage design • Potable water and sewer design • Grading design • Site planningRoadway designTraffic signal design/modifications • Signing & Striping • ADA design and assessment • Stage construction • Detour and traffic control design • Traffic Management Plan (TMP) • Research City’s documents, map existing utilities, and coordinate utility relocations with affected utilities • Prepare appropriate environmental documents obtaining project approvalsWater quality/Storm water pollution prevention plans and reportsTechnical specifications • Engineer’s Cost Estimates • Quantity take-offs • Prepare landscaping and irrigation improvement plans associated with street improvements • Prepare drainage master plans Consultant shall be expected to deliver completed and approved design assignments on or ahead of approved schedules. All designs shall be prepared and submitted in a manner that ensures a complete design approved by the City Engineer with no more than three plan check submittals. Consultant must be proactive and knowledgeable of all regulations required for project acceptance. Consultant shall be an advisor, advocate, and produce a product with the best interest intended for the City within the required schedule and project budget. All work shall be done in conformance with applicable City, State and Federal laws, latest versions of City Design Manuals, City Standard Plans, Caltrans manuals and policies, Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications, APWA Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction “Greenbook,” California Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices and California Building Codes, all as revised and amended. CIVIL ENGINEERING DESIGN. Consultant shall prepare a refined concept for the project area. This refined concept shall identify lanes and widths, median, parking areas, pedestrian and bicycle amenities, and bus turnouts. It shall address long-term drainage issues, analyze and update ADA at intersections, compare median locations with business delivery truck alternatives, and utility location and relocation. Consultant shall value engineer the site to find collaborative opportunities between aesthetics, functionality, flood control, and run-off water quality. The landscape design shall also incorporate biofiltration measures if feasible. Portions of pavement in the parking lanes could be designed to include pervious concrete in lieu of standard pavement, reducing the spread width of gutter flow, reducing heat island effect, filtering run-off, and providing detention capabilities in flood events. Consultant shall review the Old Town parking study prepared by Xxxxxx Parking Consultants and apply results accordingly to redesign efforts including opportunities for employees, customers, and residents to walk, bike, and interact more efficiently within the travel corridor. Consultant shall explore potential opportunities for sidewalk bulbouts with landscaping that can incorporate bio-remediation techniques before draining into an inlet; “pockets” in the sidewalk which could include street furniture to xxxxxx pedestrian/business interaction, or be employed as a pedestrian crossing shelter to minimize pedestrian crossing distance at key locations. Deliverables: • Two (2) engineered 4-lane design concepts sufficient as a base for City staff review, landscape design, and presentation materials, including traffic modeling video if Optional Item 2 is requested.

  • Reverse Engineering The Customer must not reverse assemble or reverse compile or directly or indirectly allow or cause a third party to reverse assemble or reverse compile the whole or any part of the software or any products supplied as a part of the Licensed System.

  • Engineering Forest Service completed survey and design for Specified Roads prior to timber sale advertisement, unless otherwise shown in A8 or Purchaser survey and design are specified in A7. On those roads for which Forest Service completes the design during the contract, the design quantities shall be used as the basis for revising estimated costs stated in the Schedule of Items and adjusting Timber Sale Account. (a) A7 to show Purchaser’s performance responsibility. (b) The Schedule of Items to include costs of survey and design, as provided under B5.24, and adjust Timber Sale Account, as provided in B5.

  • Professional Engineering and Architect’s Services Professional Engineering and Architect’s Services are not permitted to be provided under this Agreement. Texas statutes prohibit the procurement of Professional Engineering and Architect’s Services through a cooperative agreement.

  • Architect/Engineer (A/E) means a person registered as an architect pursuant to Tex. Occ. Code Xxx., Chapter 1051, as a landscape architect pursuant to Tex. Occ. Code Xxx., Chapter 1052, a person licensed as a professional engineer pursuant to Tex. Occ. Code Xxx., Chapter 1001 and/or a firm employed by Owner or a design-build contractor to provide professional architectural or engineering services and to exercise overall responsibility for the design of a Project or a significant portion thereof, and to perform the contract administration responsibilities set forth in the Contract.

  • Design Development An interim step in the design process. Design Development documents consist of plans, elevations, and other drawings and outline specifications. These documents will fix and illustrate the size and character of the entire project in its essentials as to kinds of materials, type of structure, grade elevations, sidewalks, utilities, roads, parking areas, mechanical and electrical systems, and such other work as may be required.

  • Value Engineering The Supplier may prepare, at its own cost, a value engineering proposal at any time during the performance of the contract. The value engineering proposal shall, at a minimum, include the following; a) the proposed change(s), and a description of the difference to the existing contract requirements; b) a full cost/benefit analysis of the proposed change(s) including a description and estimate of costs (including life cycle costs) the Procuring Entity may incur in implementing the value engineering proposal; and c) a description of any effect(s) of the change on performance/functionality.

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENT A. The Board of Education agrees to pay the actual tuition costs of courses taken by a teacher at accredited colleges or universities up to three courses per two (2) year fiscal periods from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2008 and July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2010 respectively, except as follows: 1. No teacher may be reimbursed for courses taken during the first year of teaching in Vineland. 2. Teachers taking courses in the second and third years of employment in Vineland will not receive remuneration until tenure has been secured. The remuneration will then be retroactive and will be paid to the teacher in a lump sum within sixty (60) days after the teacher has secured tenure. 3. All courses must be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee subject to the following requirements: (a) A teacher must provide official documentation that he/she has obtained a grade of B or better; (b) Reimbursement shall be paid only for courses directly related to teacher’s teaching field which increase the teacher’s content knowledge and are related to the teacher’s current certification, as determined by the Superintendent or his/her designee in his/her sole discretion; no reimbursement shall be paid for courses leading to a post graduate or professional degree in a field other than education or teaching. Further, effective September 1, 2010, all newly hired teachers shall not be eligible for reimbursement until they are tenured, and they shall not be eligible for retroactive reimbursement upon gaining tenure for courses taken prior to being tenured. (c) The maximum total payments to be made by the Board shall not exceed $130,000.00. Courses shall be applied for no earlier than the following dates: Summer Session - April 1 Fall/Winter Session - June 1 Spring Session - October 1 Courses must, as set forth hereinabove in this sub-article 18.A.3, be pre-approved by the Superintendent or his designee, prior to the teacher commencing the course(s); and (d) Teacher taking courses shall sign a contract requiring them to reimburse the Board for all tuition paid for a course if the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board within one (1) full school/academic year of completion of said course, except that reimbursement shall not be required when the teacher shall voluntarily leave the employ of the Board due to a significant, documented life change. 4. Tuition reimbursement costs shall be a sum not to exceed the actual cost of college credits charged in an accredited public State college/University of the State of New Jersey. B. When the Superintendent initiates in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction, the cooperation of the Vineland Education Association will be solicited. Notwithstanding the above, the initiation of in-service training courses, workshops, conferences and programs shall be determined solely at the discretion of the Board. C. One professional leave day may be granted to a teacher upon request, according to the following guidelines: 1. The professional day may be for attendance at a workshop, seminar or visit to another school for the expressed purpose of self professional improvement for the job. 2. The request shall arrive in the office of the Superintendent of Schools at least ten (10) working days prior to the date requested and shall be reviewed by the immediate supervisor prior to submission. The Board reserves the right to deny a professional leave day before or immediately following a holiday or on a day which by its nature suggests a hardship for providing a substitute. 3. No more than two teachers from any one elementary school or from any one department in the secondary schools may be granted a professional leave for a given day. 4. The teacher may be required to submit a report to the Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, supervisor (s), principal and staff regarding the activity of the professional day. 5. Costs incurred by the teacher for the professional day authorized under this Section shall be the teacher’s responsibility. 6. A maximum of 90 professional leave days may be authorized for the school year which shall be apportioned as follows: elementary, 35; grades seven and eight, 20; and high school, 35. D. If the Board initiates a teacher’s attendance at a professional workshop, seminar or visit, the expenses shall be the responsibility of the Board. Further, this day shall not be subtracted from the 90 professional leave days granted to teachers of the Association. E. The Board agrees to pay the full cost of courses taken by secretaries related to skills and knowledge improvement when such courses are required and approved by the Board. F. The Board and the Association agree that it is important to communicate when developing and implementing current and future learning technologies, including but not limited to distance and on-line learning.
