College Grievance. The College shall have the right to file a grievance with respect to the interpretation, application, administration or alleged contravention of the Agreement. Such grievance shall be presented in writing signed by the College President or the President's nominee, to the Union at the College concerned with a copy to the Union Grievance Officer within 20 days following the occurrence or origination of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance, commencing at the Grievance Meeting stage. Failing settlement at a meeting held within 20 days of the presentation of the grievance, the Union shall give the College its written reply to the grievance in 15 days following the meeting. College Grievance. The College shall have the right to file a grievance based on a difference arising directly out of the Agreement concerning the interpretation, application, administration or alleged contravention of this Agreement. Such grievance shall be presented in writing, signed by the President or his/her designee to the Local Union President of the College concerned with a copy to the Union President within thirty (30) days following the occurrence or origination of the circumstances giving rise to the grievance. The grievance shall then be processed in accordance with Step 2 of the grievance procedure with the appropriate changes. Failing settlement following Step 2 meeting, such grievance may be referred to mediation/arbitration providing such referral is within fourteen (14) days of the receipt of the Step 2 reply.

Discharge, Suspension, Layoff or Reassignment Grievance Application‌ Articles 20.3.8.2 (Grievance) and 20.4 (Mediation/Arbitration Procedure) apply to a Regular Part-Time Employee who has completed their probationary period, it being understood that the dismissal, suspension or release of an employee who has not completed their probationary period shall not be the subject of a grievance.
College Grievance. It is understood that the College may file a grievance with the Representatives of the Union and request a meeting with them to discuss any complaint or concern that there has been a violation of any contractual obligation undertaken by the Union. College Grievance. The College must submit its grievance in writing either by mailing a written grievance by certified mail, return receipt requested, to the Union’s President or by the College personally delivering the written grievance to one of the Union’s authorized representatives and contemporaneously receiving a written acknowledgment of said delivery from the authorized representative on or before the tenth (10th) business day after the action to be grieved first occurred. Upon request by the Union, the College must provide to the Union’s President a copy of the completed USPS Receipt for Certified Mail to prove that the written grievance was mailed on or before the tenth (10th) business day after the action to be grieved occurred. Failure to submit a written grievance in a timely manner or to provide a copy of the requested completed USPS Receipt for Certified Mail will render the grievance untimely, the grievance will be deemed denied and the grievance will not be processed.
