Compassionate Care Family Leave. Where an employee demonstrates eligibility equal to the requirements of EI compassionate care benefits, the employee shall be granted up to eight (8) weeks of compassionate care family leave.

Approval of an extension shall not be unreasonably denied. During an extended leave, the employee shall continue to accrue all benefits and seniority. Should the employee choose to make contributions for the period of the extended leave to the pension or benefits plan, the Employer will pay the Employer's contribution for the same period.
