Compassionate Leaves. 7.2.1 Bereavement leave of up to three (3) days shall be granted without loss of pay or deduction from sick leave to a Long Term Occasional Teacher in the event of the death of a spouse, parent, child, guardian, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in- law, or grandparent.

Compassionate Leaves. 19.07 An Instructor shall be granted a leave without pay, upon presentation of a request within a reasonable time period, to attend to her or his child or spouse’s child who is experiencing socio-affective problems, is disabled or has an extended illness, and whose condition requires the presence of the Instructor. As well, an Instructor shall be granted a leave without pay, upon presentation of a request within a reasonable time period, to attend to her or his spouse, mother, father, sister or brother whose health condition requires her or his presence. The duration of the leave shall be agreed upon by the Centre and the Instructor. STATUTORY HOLIDAYS
Compassionate Leaves. Employees will, upon providing an appropriate explanation, be granted a leave of absence without pay for compassionate reasons. Such request will not be unreasonably denied.

Compassionate Leaves a)If a death occurs in the immediatefamily of an employee when said employeeis at work, or scheduled to go to work, then said employee shall be granted compassionate leave with pay for the remainder of his shift for that day. When death occurs to a member of the immediate family of an employee covered by this Agreement, as hereinafter defined in Section of this Article, such employee shall be granted compassionateleave effective midnight follow- ing the death for a period not to exceed five (5)consecutive days, for the purpose of enablinghim to look funeral arrangements and to attend the funeral. The employees shall be paid those regular shifts he would have been required to work had the death not occurred. For the purpose of this Article, members of the immedi- ate family are employees’s spouse, mother, father, xxxxx- xxx, sisters, sons, daughters, mother-in-law, father-in- law, step-parents,and includes a common-lawspouse pro- viding the relationship is made known to the employer prior to the death. One (1)day of compassionate leave with pay shall be granted to any employeecovered by this Agreement for the purpose of attending the funeral of a grand-parent, grand- child, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter- in-lawor anyother relative who ispermanently residingin the employee’s household, provided that such day is a normal day. Any such employee, while on compassionateleave with pay, shall receive the same rate of pay from the Employer as was in effect for the said employeeimmediatelyprior to going on compassionate leave.
Compassionate Leaves. Employee requests for compassionate leave will be made, in advance, on the Board’s leave of absence form through the immediate supervisor to the Manager of Human Resources or designated representative. In emergencies a telephone call, confirmed later in writing, is acceptable.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 15.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a Tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer.

  • Intermittent Leave If medically necessary due to the serious medical condition of the employee, or that of the employee's spouse, child, parent, registered domestic partner within the meaning of Minneapolis Code of Ordinances Chapter 142, or other dependents and/or members of their households who have a serious medical condition, leave may be taken on an intermittent schedule. In cases of the birth, adoption or xxxxxx placement of a child, family and medical leave may be taken intermittently only when expressly approved by the Employer.

  • Pregnancy and Maternity Services This plan covers physician services and the services of a licensed midwife for prenatal, delivery, and postpartum care. The first office visit to diagnose a pregnancy is not included in prenatal services. This plan covers hospital services for mother and newborn child for at least forty-eight

  • Medical Care Leave An Employee who is unable to make the necessary arrangements for maintenance of personal health care outside of scheduled work time, shall be granted time off with pay. Such time off shall not exceed sixteen (16) working hours per calendar year. Hours in excess of sixteen (16) hours per calendar year shall be deducted from the Employee's sick leave accumulation.
