If the College determines there is an enrollment decline impacting a faculty member’s ability to meet their standard minimum workload within a department, the College will make every reasonable effort to offer work that completes the standard minimum workload. ACF will be given preference of assignments to reach their maximum workload hours after tenure-track faculty have selected overloads and before assignments to adjunct faculty. By the start of Spring semester 2018, the College, the Association, and the Academic Council will form a committee to develop recommendations on a standardized process that would apply to the manner in which faculty within a department equitably rotate through the course selection process in order to reach their full workload. By February 28, 2018, the committee will submit to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs those recommendations for consideration and final determination. The Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs will collaborate with the Association and Academic Council as a part of his/her review process. By the start of Summer semester 2018, the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs will communicate to faculty the approved process. Modifications to the process shall apply to the master schedule for Autumn semester 2018 and beyond.

Course Selection. Exchange Students will choose their courses from the regular catalog offerings of the Host Institution for which they are qualified, as appropriate. Course Selection. College courses selected for this program shall meet and satisfy the requirements of s. 1007.271 F.S. for awarding both high school credit and college credit. SBCC shall advise interested students and their parents or guardians of the application of the college credits earned to the credit required for a high school diploma, and to the ramifications and responsibilities of initiating a permanent college transcript. In accordance with s. 1007.271 F.S., students may not earn dual enrollment credit for pre- collegiate instruction (including career/technical-preparatory instruction and college- preparatory courses), recreation or leisure, or physical education courses focusing on the physical execution of a skill. Dual enrollment students may only enroll in those courses approved by SBCC and FSCJ. To ensure greatest relevancy toward a postsecondary degree, in academic dual enrollment, emphasis will be placed on courses within the general education core curriculum. Individual elective courses may be evaluated for relevance to intended college major. Those deemed pertinent may be granted dual enrollment credit. To promote student success in dual enrollment courses, students must take SLS1103 in the first two semesters of participation in any dual enrollment program, with preference of taking the course in the first semester of participation. The course may be taken at the public school site or on the college campus in a face to face or hybrid modality only.
