Educational Allowances. The Employer shall pay the full cost of any course of instruction required by the Employer for an employee to better qualify themself to perform their job. Payment shall be made on successful completion of the course.

If an employee's application for approval is denied, the employee shall be given the reason(s) in writing. If assistance is granted, payment shall be made after evidence of successful completion of the course is submitted.

(b) Employees required to attend on a non-instructional day shall receive pay for the time in attendance at the workshop at their posted to hours, or on a straight time basis up to a maximum of eight (8) hours per day, whichever is greater.
(c) If an employee without the required Occupational First Aid certification is selected for the First Aid Attendant position or an employee requires a refresher course, the Board will pay for personal time spent to attend the required course. The Board will provide one day off with pay to study for the examination. The Board will pay any course registration fees required to acquire or maintain the appropriate Occupational First Aid certification.
Educational Allowances. The following amounts will be available for books, including electronic books, subscriptions, software, conference registration fees and travel as appropriate, board review courses and materials, board exam fees, the USMLE/COMLEX exam score transcript, fingerprinting, and notary costs related to the submission of the medical license application. Note: Provisions pertaining to American Board of Radiology are contained under Section 10.9(c)iii below. As long as an educational allowance reimbursement form is completed accurately and approved by management, all educational allowances shall be reimbursed within forty- five (45) working days of submission to the Program CoordinatorGraduate Medical Education OfficeDirector. Residents shall submit requests for reimbursement for Educational Allowances as soon as possible after the expense occurs, but no later than the end of the fiscal year ending on June 30th.
Educational Allowances. 24.01 (a) For the purpose of establishing an Employee’s Basic Rate of Pay, the Employer will recognize courses, diplomas and degrees relevant to Registered Nursing or Registered Psychiatric Nursing practice offered by bona fide post secondary educational institution

(b) The Employer shall pay the cost of employees attending on the Employer's behalf training programmes, conferences, seminars and work shops.

Educational Allowances. A. The Town agrees to establish an annual educational fund which will be available to all members of the Department for the purpose of improving their professional standing and in recognition of their having accomplished certain professional objectives.
B. Employees who propose to pursue a job-related degree program which will make them eligible to apply for benefits under this Article must obtain the Chief of the Department’s written approval in advance.
C. Employees who are candidates for an academic degree in a program which is job- related, in the judgment of the Chief of the Department, will be eligible to make application to the Fire Commission for reimbursement of seventy-five (75) percent of their expenses in connection with tuition, registration, lab fees and books in such degree program. Such reimbursement shall only apply to successful completion of a course with a grade of “B” or better or a passing grade where a pass/fail system in is effect.
D. The annual fund is available to those eligible employees (more than one (1) year of service and not also eligible for G.I. Benefits) on a seniority-wide basis. Effective upon ratification, the annual fund will be Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00). Thirteen Thousand Dollars ($13,000.00) is designated for the stipend payments provided for in Article 35(E) and Seven Thousand Dollars ($7,000.00) for education reimbursement provided for in Article 35(C). Employees shall submit their application for educational allowance credits, which shall include an official transcript from an accredited college or university sent directly from the college or university to the Town as proof of eligibility for this allowance, only once, not annually, and shall amend their application only when necessary. Submission of an official transcript shall apply only to new credits as of July 1, 2012. The fund is subject to diminution by the annual payments relating to educational accomplishments as per the following schedule:
E. The Town will pay each member an educational allowance of $7.00 per college credit earned him, payable June of each year, which shall be processed through the regular payroll with applicable payroll deductions.
