Eligibility for Continuing Contract. 7.4.1 Eligibility for continuing contract shall be based upon state law.
7.4.2 The following specifically supersedes ORC §3319.08, §3319.11 and any other applicable state law. Before the Board can grant a member a continuing contract, the member must provide written notice to the Human Resources Department indicating that the teacher has, or soon will, qualify for a continuing contract. The notice must be submitted on or before September 15. The notification form can be found on the District website.
Eligibility for Continuing Contract. Eligibility for a continuing contract shall be in accordance with Ohio law (ORC 3319.
Eligibility for Continuing Contract. LICENSURE A teacher who is initially licensed on or before December 31, 2010, is eligible for tenure under the following conditions:
a. Teachers with a professional educator license, senior professional educator license, or lead professional educator license and a Masters Degree are eligible to apply for a continuing contract after their fifth year of continuous teaching in the Indian Lake Local School District.
b. The teacher must apply by September 15 of the year in which they wish to be considered for a continuing contract.
c. Teachers will not be considered for continuing contract during the term of a multi-year-limited contract.
d. Teachers with a continuing contract previously granted in another Ohio school district may apply for a continuing contract by September 15 of their third year of continuous teaching in the Indian Lake Local School District. The teacher must have a professional license or its equivalent and a Masters Degree.
e. To obtain a continuing contract, the bargaining unit member must be recommended for a continuing contract by the Superintendent. A teacher who is initially licensed on or after January 1, 2011, is eligible for tenure if the teacher:
a. Holds a professional educator license, senior professional educator license, or lead professional educator license;
b. Has held an educator license, other than a substitute teaching license, for at least five (5) years; and
c. Has completed one of the following: (a) if the teacher did not hold a master’s degree at the time of the initial licensure, thirty (30) semester hours of coursework in the area of licensure or a related area since initial issuance of the license or (b) if the teacher held a master’s degree at the time of initial receipt of an education license, six (6) semester hours of graduate coursework in the area of licensure or a related area since initial issuance of the license.
d. To obtain a continuing contract, the bargaining unit member must be recommended for a continuing contract by the Superintendent. In the event that a probationary teacher is denied tenure, or is served with a notice of dismissal in accordance with the Teacher Tenure Law, said action shall be subject to the Grievance Procedure.

Teachers shall be eligible for continuing contract status in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.08, provided that no teacher shall be deemed eligible for a continuing contract, nor be deemed employed on a continuing contract by operation of law, unless the Ohio Department of Education issued a professional, permanent, life teaching certificate, or educator’s license to that teacher before February 1 of the year in which the teacher's limited contract is to expire, and a copy of the certificate or license is filed in the Superintendent's office by February

When an employee wishes to be considered for continuing contract and meets the eligibility requirements, he/she MUST notify their reviewer in writing on or before October 15. If an employee does not apply for continuing contract by that date, the employee will be ineligible for continuing contract for that year. A teacher who does not file an upgraded license before April 1 but who expects to receive an upgraded license before the following April 1 has the right to request that the Board re-employ him or her on a one-year limited contract rather than a longer contract, in order to be considered for tenure the following year, if he or she becomes eligible. Such a one-year contract shall not be considered to be a “probationary” contract under O.R.C. 3319.11.
Eligibility for Continuing Contract.
34 A. To be eligible for a Continuing Contract, a full-time faculty member must have met the following 35 minimum requirements:
36 (1) Completion of five (5) years of satisfactory service at St. Xxxxx River State College during a period 37 not in excess of seven (7) years with such service being continuous except for leave duly authorized and 38 granted. 39 (2) Recommendation by the Continuing Contract Screening Committee and approval by the Board of 40 Trustees for continuing contract status based on successful performance of duties and demonstration of 41 professional competence. 42
1 B. Full-time faculty members who have not met the educational qualifications required by SACS and the 2 College in his or her teaching field will not be considered for recommendation for a continuing contract.
Eligibility for Continuing Contract. Teachers shall be eligible for continuing contract status in accordance with O.R.C. 3319.08 and 3319.11, provided that no teacher shall be deemed eligible for a continuing contract nor be deemed employed on a continuing contract by operation of law unless prior to the April regular Board meeting of the year in which the teacher's limited contract expires, the teacher has submitted to the Superintendent proof of continuing contract eligibility under O.R.C.
