Faculty Exchange. A faculty member who is selected for participation in a bona fide exchange program in which there is no significant cost to the College, may, with the approval of the College, be granted up to a one-year leave. Seniority, salary, and similar benefits will continue during the year of each exchange.
Faculty Exchange. The Employer agrees that an exchange program whereby with College approval, an employee may for one (1) year exchange duties with someone of appropriate qualifications and receive full pay, benefits and increments and in all respects continue as an employee of Northern Lights College. Upon return to the College, it is expected that the employee will work for a period of not less than the amount provided through the exchange program.
Faculty Exchange. 2.3.1 Each institution nominates its own faculty for participation, but final approval must be based on mutual agreement between sending and receiving institution. Further, this exchange is subject to the University and the Affiliate policies for faculty appointments.
2.3.2 The University and the Affiliate shall continue to employ their respective faculty during the period of exchange.
2.3.3 The University and the Affiliate shall assist visiting faculty with resources at their disposal to create mutually productive research and teaching opportunities. Both agree to provide visiting faculty with the students and facilities needed to teach as agreed upon including, where relevant, the requisite classroom, office, clerical support and library access needed for such an enterprise.
Faculty Exchange. As a part of research collaboration, both Institutions will provide opportunities and convenience for faculty exchanges. Such programs, to the greatest extent possible, will be conducted on a reciprocal basis, providing commensurate opportunities for the faculty of both Institutions. The specific terms for funding such faculty exchanges will be negotiated under separate and specific agreements.
Faculty Exchange. The two universities will actively seek to promote mutual faculty exchange for mutually agreed periods. Faculty exchange may assume various forms, such as individual short-time and long-term visits of faculties, joint research and development projects. Both universities will try to seek external funding sources to facilitate these exchanges. Encouragement of the academic faculty to co-author publications, joint research activities and joint project possibilities is in subject to applicable copyright and / or other laws of each country, as well as rules and regulations of the perspective universities. The host university will endeavor to, as much as possible, make available such facilities that will enable the faculty to obtain experience and training in its departments and institutes, including the use of its laboratories and libraries. The two universities acknowledge that in the absence of an external funding agency, all expenses for travel, living and allied costs will be left to the discretion and the responsibility of the sending university.
Faculty Exchange. In accordance with the agreement for exchange of academic and scholarly information between NIT Srinagar and IITH, faculty members from either institution will visit the other institution for a maximum period of six months at a time with the approval of the head of both institutions. The host institution will arrange for office space and facility and campus accommodation for the visiting faculty members, based on the availability. The provisions for leave salary / sabbatical for the visiting faculty, if any, will be governed by the service conditions of the home institution.
Faculty Exchange. Exchanges of faculty and technical specialists generally shall be conducted under the following guidelines:
1. The Participating Institutions shall - for duration to be determined on a case-bycase basis and after mutual agreement - invite faculty for teaching and/or research visits. Visiting faculty must have a sufficient command of the language of instruction, if they are invited to teach.
2. If and insofar as there are sufficient funds for these specific purposes at the disposal of the parties to the Agreement, the travel and living expenses shall be incurred by the Home Institution. Exchange faculty shall be compensated entirely by their respective Home Institution. Availability of funding from the Host Institution shall be determined at the time of invitation.
3. The Participating Institutions shall undertake good faith efforts to raise funds from outside sources for the exchange of lecturers and/or researchers.
4. The Participating Institutions shall inform one another regularly about the curricular programs offered by each, and especially about research seminars, colloquia, conferences, and symposia organized by each. They shall exchange documentation and publications issued from these proceedings.
5. Each faculty exchange participant must obtain and submit written proof of medical insurance coverage during the exchange period as required by U.S. Federal law. It is understood that the Host Institution accepts no responsibility or liability for providing health care services or health care insurance for visiting students, scholars, and faculty.
6. Exchange faculty shall be responsible for obtaining any necessary visas and otherwise complying with all immigration laws and regulations of the country of the Host Institution. The Host Institution shall cooperate in such efforts, but shall not have any responsibility to assure the granting of any visas, permits or approvals.
7. Exchange faculty shall follow the policies and procedures of the Host Institution, any applicable policies and procedures of the Host Institution shall be provided to each exchange faculty member in writing and explained to the individual faculty member prior to arrival at the Host Institution. Exchange faculty shall acknowledge receipt and understanding of said policies and procedures in writing.
Faculty Exchange a) Number of faculty members and exchange period. Teachers and researchers may apply to the exchange program for periods not exceeding one academic year. Each institution may submit up to 2 teachers each year during the term of this agreement, unless this number is changed by mutual consent.
Faculty Exchange. Both participating institutions/universities agree to encourage the development of a mutually- beneficial visiting faculty program. Faculty members in this type of exchange may be invited to participate in lectures, workshops, symposia, research and special projects, as well as offer short courses. Visitation lengths, course curricula, and compensation will be determined on a case by case basis
Faculty Exchange a. UNC and UniTS agree to exchange up to a maximum of 3 faculty (hereinafter “Participants”) per institution per academic year (fall or spring semesters) when institutions are in session, beginning in Fall Semester 2024 for a short-term exchange visit.
b. The number of faculty to be exchanged will be commensurate with available funds and approvals by both institutions. Any variance in the number of faculty exchanged in a given academic year shall be addressed annually by the Parties prior to recruitment of participants for the following academic year.
c. The period of the exchange visit of any faculty member of the home institution shall not exceed one (1) work week (Monday through Friday) or 9 consecutive calendar days, whichever is greater. Longer program duration falls under UNC Visiting Scholar Program and HR provisions.
d. All matters related to the rights and responsibilities of employment, including any compensation and/or benefits of exchange faculty, are at the sole discretion and responsibility of the home institution. All potential exchange faculty members should submit request or proposal for participation in the exchange program to the appropriate academic department at the host institution. Where applicable, such request or proposal may include current CV of the applicant, any research proposals, details, and expected timeframe for completion. Review of exchange proposals will be undertaken by the hosting departments and the UNC MCB Global Programs Committee.
e. Participants shall be subject to the host institution's rules, regulations, and policies. The host institution will orient exchange faculty to pertinent rules. The home institution will withdraw the faculty member from the exchange assignment upon the request of the host institution. Each host institution reserves the right to terminate a visiting faculty member’s participation in the program for violation of the host institution’s rules, regulations, and policies, or violation of law or regulation in the host country.
f. Host institutions will assist participant(s) in identifying and securing adequate housing accommodations for the period of the Program. Host institutions will be responsible for the housing costs incurred by the Participants. The Parties will inform one another of available housing options in a timely manner in order to facilitate adequate financial planning.
