FAMILY TIME. The parties agree to a family visitation time limit of thirty (30) minutes during the time period of (0730 - 1600 hours). A one-hour or more family visit may be authorized during other than this time period, but must not interfere with training or duties.
FAMILY TIME. Permanent full-time employees are entitled to utilize up to five (5) days of accumulated sick leave in a calendar year, to attend to family illness. Family members are defined as an employee’s: spouse (including common-law or same-sex partner); child (including step child or xxxxxx child); or parent (including step parent or xxxxxx parent).
FAMILY TIME. Family time is defined as “a period of time off duty to address sudden, immediate and unexpected demands placed on an employee by the need to care for a sick child or relative.” A member, after initially submitting a request for time off as a ROT, may apply in writing to the Chief of Police within ten (10) days, clearly outlining the circumstances of the request and indicating from which time bank the hours will be deducted.
FAMILY TIME a. Sick leave may also be used for attendance to the serious illness of a member of the employee’s immediate family, as defined in Article 00, Xxxxxxxxx Xxxxx. b. Sick leave may also be used to attend to the “routine” illness or custodial care of an employee’s spouse/domestic partner, children, and parents.
FAMILY TIME. The provision of family responsibility time separate from sick leave, vacation leave, and paid personal leave (per Policy is intended to assist employees with balancing their family and work responsibilities. Sick leave should be used only to provide employees with income during periods of their own illness. The operational requirements of the University must be met. However, the University that effort is required to accommodate requests for family responsibility time. Seven (7) days per calendar year of family responsibility time will be provided to all regular full-time employees. Employees may use the time in amounts not less than one hour, and, if possible, should request the time in advance. The time will be granted unless precluded by operational requirements. Family responsibility time is available on a “borrow” basis, to be repaid by mutual agreement between an employee and supervisor. For example, an employee may repay family responsibility time by charging this time against any banked lieu time or by starting earlier or working late (if approved in advanced by supervisor). If approved in advance and so directed by supervisor, upon arrival an employee will check in with Campus Police and will check out upon departure. This time is not considered as “overtime” and does not accrue at the overtime rate. Only when an employee is requested by supervisor to work approved overtime, will the time be calculated at the appropriate overtime rate (and may be applied toward any outstanding balance due). Unused family responsibility time does not accumulate from one year to the next. An employee must repay all outstanding time by March of the following year. In addition to family responsibility time, employees may apply for an unpaid leave of
FAMILY TIME. The agreement can include rules for designated "phone-free" times, such as during family meals or while engaging in specific family activities. This ensures that family time is respected and cherished.

  • Crib Time (i) When an Employee is required to work overtime after the usual ceasing time for the day or shift for two hours or more, he/she shall be allowed to take, without deduction of pay, a crib time of twenty minutes in duration immediately after such ceasing time and thereafter, after each four hours of continuous work, he/she shall be allowed to take also, without deduction of pay, a crib time of 30 minutes in duration. (ii) In the event of an Employee remaining at work after the usual ceasing time without taking the crib time of twenty minutes and continuing at work for a period of two hours or more, he/she shall be regarded as having worked twenty minutes more than the time worked and be paid accordingly.

  • Family Sick Leave An employee may use sick leave credits for family illness or injury only if the employee must provide direct care to an immediate family member. For purposes of family sick leave, “immediate family member” will mean the employee’s parent, spouse, or child, including step-child and xxxxxx child.

  • Family Leave 1. An Appointing Authority shall grant to a full time or part time employee who has completed his/her probationary period, or if there is no such probationary period, has been employed for at least three consecutive months, an unpaid leave of absence for up to twenty-six (26) weeks in conjunction with the birth, adoption or placement of a child as long as the leave concludes within twelve (12) months following the birth or placement. The ability to take leave ceases when a xxxxxx placement ceases unless the need for additional leave is directly connected to the previous placement. 2. New employees who have completed six full months of employment but remain within their probationary period may request the appointing authority to waive their remaining wait time for FMLA. Such request shall include submission of satisfactory medical evidence that demonstrates either a.) an existing catastrophic illness; or b.) a problematic pregnancy that prevents the employee from being able to perform the functions of her position. Any leave granted under this waiver will be charged against the employee’s FMLA leave as described in this section. The remaining rights and obligations under Section 8 shall apply. 3. At least thirty (30) days in advance, the employee shall submit to the Appointing Authority a written notice of his/her intent to take such leave and the dates and expected duration of such leave. If thirty (30) days notice is not possible, the employee shall give notice as soon as practicable. The employee shall provide upon request by the Appointing Authority proof of the birth or placement or adoption of a child. 4. If an employee has accrued sick leave, personal leave, compensatory leave, or vacation credits at the commencement of his/her family leave, the employee may use such leave credits for which s/he may be eligible under the sick leave, personal leave or vacation provisions of this Agreement. The Appointing Authority may, in his/her discretion, assign an employee to temporarily backfill for an employee who is on family leave. Such assignment may not be subject to the grievance procedure. 5. At the expiration of the family leave, the employee shall be returned to the same or equivalent position with the same status, pay and length of service credit as of the date of his/her leave. If during the period of the leave, employees in an equivalent position have been laid off through no fault of their own, the employee will be extended the same rights or benefits, if any, extended to employees of equal length of service in the equivalent position in the department. 6. Employees taking an unpaid leave of absence under this provision will accrue sick and vacation leave benefits only for the first eight (8) weeks of such unpaid leave. Notwithstanding any other provision of the Agreement to the contrary, the family leave granted under this Article shall not affect the employee's right to receive any contractual benefits for which s/he was eligible at the time of his/her leave. 7. During the time an employee is on family leave, the employee shall be entitled to group health insurance coverage benefits on the same terms and conditions in effect at the time the leave began, provided the employee continues to pay the required employee share of premium while on leave. If the employee fails to return from leave, the Commonwealth may recover, as provided under FMLA, the cost it incurred in maintaining insurance coverage under its group health plan for the duration of the employee's leave.

  • Sick Time An employee shall have all of his/her accrued sick leave credits transferred when the employee is transferred to a different State agency.

  • Family Illness The start of a family leave for a serious health condition of a family member shall begin on the date requested by the employee or designated by Management.

  • Family Violence Leave Family Violence Leave as provided for by the Holidays Act 2003 is in addition to other leave allowances within the collective agreement.

  • Family Illness Leave An employee will be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for family illness. Additional family illness leave may be granted by the employer.

  • Family and Domestic Violence Leave 48.1 For the purposes of this clause, “family and domestic violence” and “family member” and “close relative” are defined in the NES.

  • Children/Grandchildren An employee may purchase life insurance in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000) as a package for all eligible children/grandchildren (as defined in Section 2A2 and 2A3 of this Article). For a new employee, child/grandchild coverage requires evidence of insurability if application is made after the initial effective date of coverage as defined in this Article, Section 5C. An employee who becomes eligible for insurance may purchase child/grandchild coverage without evidence of insurability if application is made within thirty (30) days of the initial effective date as defined in this Article. Child/grandchild coverage commences fourteen (14) calendar days after birth.

  • Business Time From and after the Effective Date, the Executive agrees to devote his full attention during normal business hours to the business and affairs of the Company and to use his best efforts to perform faithfully and efficiently the responsibilities assigned to him hereunder, to the extent necessary to discharge such responsibilities, except for (i) time spent in managing his personal, financial and legal affairs and serving on corporate, civic or charitable boards or committees, in each case only if and to the extent not substantially interfering with the performance of such responsibilities, and (ii) periods of vacation and sick leave to which he is entitled. It is expressly understood and agreed that the Executive's continuing to serve on any boards and committees on which he is serving or with which he is otherwise associated immediately preceding the Effective Date shall not be deemed to interfere with the performance of the Executive's services to the Company.
