GIS Specialist. Xxxxxx assessed the internal condition of 14,370 lf of existing 60- and 66-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipes, 500 access manholes and 1,500 manhole ring and cover elevation grades around the City of Xxxxxxxx according to NASSCO PACP and MACP procedures. Traditional analog CCTV camera equipment was used to investigate the pipe interior due to the lighting requirements necessary for larger pipe diameters. Assessment of condition was performed on manholes within lateral pipes directly upstream of large diameter collector pipes due to the accumulation point for corrosive H2S gas. Automated data collection systems were developed using GIS tablet technology with standardized drop-down data entry for consistency and ease of data transfer. The format of data collected transferred directly into the asset management software to enhance accuracy.
GIS Specialist. The City of Tempe maintains approximately 500 miles of gravity sewer mains and over 10,000 manholes of various materials installed as part of its wastewater collection system. The City has a comprehensive program in place for assessing and monitoring the condition of critical pipelines in the collection system. Pipelines and manholes that are observed to be in poor condition and/or requiring immediate attention are programmed for rehabilitation, repair or replacement.
