Granting of Vacation Requests. The County is entitled to determine the number of employees who are entitled to take vacations at any given time, however, vacation requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Preference for vacations will be given in order of bargaining-unit-wide seniority. Granting of vacation requests during the Christmas/New Year period shall be subject to Article 14.03 (e).

Granting of Vacation Requests. Approval of vacation requests for those employees who have requested five (5) consecutive working days’ vacation or more during this period will be granted in order of seniority. After having satisfied such vacation requests to the extent possible, approval of vacation requests of less than five (5) consecutive working days during the same period will be granted in order of seniority. Employees will submit their vacation request in advance and the Department Managers or designates will advise the employees of the granting of such requests in accordance with the following time table: Failing application under Article L.7.3, employees must submit vacation requests for a minimum of two (2) weeks in a vacation year, no later than the June 15 request date. Approval of vacation requests submitted after the deadline dates will be granted on a first come, first served basis. Approval of vacation requests for the period beginning December 23 to January 3 of the following calendar year will be granted subject to the requirements of Article L.5.1(g). Approval of vacation requests for the period beginning April 1 and ending on May 31 are to be submitted no later than December 1st of the previous vacation year and shall be granted no later than eight (8) weeks prior to the beginning of the requested vacation period. Approval of such requests will be granted on the basis of seniority. Under extenuating circumstances employees may request to have an approved vacation period rescheduled.
Granting of Vacation Requests. It is recognized that work requirements must be given first consideration in granting vacation requests. The Hospital is entitled to determine the number of employees who are entitled to take vacations at any given time, however, vacation requests shall not be unreasonably denied. Preference for vacations will be given in order of bargaining-unit-wide seniority in each classification within each department, unit or division, up to a maximum of three (3) weeks' (1 working days) vacation. These will be granted to all employees in order of seniority before further vacation requests are granted to employees with greater seniority. However, where vacation requests of more than three (3) weeks during this period do not conflict with other vacation requests more than three (3) weeks' vacation may be granted to the extent practicable. Granting of vacation requests during the Year period shall be subject to Article Nursing Service Department Bargaining Unit Seniority For vacation scheduling purposes only departmental seniority in the Nursing Service Department will be defined as bargaining unit seniority within a designated working unit. Working unit subdivisions of the Nursing Department will be designated by the Hospital for vacation scheduling purposes. Where it becomes necessary to alter the working unit, such alteration will not prejudice an employee's previously authorized vacation schedule. For scheduling purposes' the bargaining unit seniority within the Ambulance Department shall be defined as the bargaining unit seniority within each division.

  • Vacation Requests Regular employees become eligible for paid vacation leave once they have completed six (6) months of continuous employment. Vacations requests must be submitted by no later than January 31st to be scheduled for the vacation calendar year of April 1 - March 31. Vacation time may be divided into blocks of one to two weeks in duration. Scheduling of vacation shall be in accordance with seniority within a classification. Where an employee chooses to split their vacation, they shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of the first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the second vacation period but only after all other first vacation periods have been selected. Remaining vacation periods will be scheduled in a fair and equitable manner amongst employees within a classification. The approved vacation schedule will be posted at the worksite on or before February 28th in each year. Employees will be limited to booking a maximum of two (2) consecutive weeks of vacation during prime vacation period (June 15 - September 15; and December 15 - January 5), unless further consecutive weeks would not interfere with the vacation preferences of less senior employees. The Employer will make every effort to accommodate requests for vacation of more than two (2) consecutive weeks outside of prime vacation periods. Employees failing to exercise their right to request vacation within the vacation selection time posted by the Employer will forfeit their seniority rights with respect to choice of vacation time. In such cases, the Employer reserves the right to schedule vacation time for the employee. A maximum of two (2) weeks of vacation time may be carried forward from one year to another. Employees who wish to carry vacation forward should notify the Employer by January 31st. If the employee has not requested all of their vacation leave, the Employer reserves the right to schedule the remaining vacation days within the last four (4) months of the calendar year. The Employer may also pay out unused vacation credits at the end of February each calendar year.

F) Employees may, prior to the scheduling of vacations, request to have their vacations scheduled in accordance with either the principle of seniority or on a rotating basis. Where a consensus of employees cannot be reached as above, vacations shall be scheduled according to seniority on the basis that the employees with the most seniority shall have the first choice of vacation times. Employees failing to exercise their rights within the vacation selection time posted by the Employer shall forfeit their seniority rights in respect to choice of vacation time. G) Vacation time may be divided and shall be scheduled at a time mutually agreeable to the employee and the Employer, however, an employee who splits her vacation shall not receive her choice of when she wishes to take the subsequent portion of her vacation until all other employees in the unit or xxxx have made their first choice of vacation time.

Notwithstanding any other provision in this Section, if OIG grants the timely written request with respect to an act, notification, or report, Stipulated Penalties for failure to perform the act or file the notification or report shall not begin to accrue until one day after CHSI fails to meet the revised deadline set by OIG. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Section, if OIG denies such a timely written request, Stipulated Penalties for failure to perform the act or file the notification or report shall not begin to accrue until three business days after CHSI receives OIG’s written denial of such request or the original due date, whichever is later. A “timely written request” is defined as a request in writing received by OIG at least five business days prior to the date by which any act is due to be performed or any notification or report is due to be filed.
