Hazardous Locations. Seller reserves the right to refuse to dispatch personnel to worksites threatened by warfare, terrorist activities, or other unsafe conditions as determined by the Seller’s management. A variety of factors will be considered in determining whether a location is hazardous, including whether the country within which the work is to be performed is under a “Travel Warning Status” as determined by the U.S. Department of State. Seller reserves the right to recall personnel if the worksite does not meet reasonable health and safety standards. Time spent in hazardous locations will be billed at applicable hazardous location rates.

Hazardous Locations. A. The Contractor's attention is directed to the fact that certain areas, intercepting sewers, diversion xxxxxxxx, regulators, manholes, tanks, and piping contain gases which are potentially hazardous, and which may be toxic, contain insufficient oxygen for human survival, and are combustible in the presence of oxygen. Burning, use of open flames, smoking, or the carrying of matches or lighters shall be prohibited within hazardous areas. D. The Contractor shall take all necessary protective measures to insure the safe completion of the work. F. All work performed in connection with combustible equipment and piping demolitions shall meet the applicable requirements of the following: 1. API Accident Prevention Manual No. 1A, Cleaning Petroleum Storage Tanks. A. Section A. Crude-Oil and Unfinished-Products Tanks. 2. API Accident Prevention Manual No. 3, Gas and Electric Cutting and Welding. 3. API RP 2015, Recommended Practice for Cleaning Petroleum Storage Tanks. 4. Water Pollution Control Federation Manual of Practice No. 1, Safety in Wastewater Works. 5. NFPA No. 327, Standard Procedures for Cleaning and Safeguarding Small Tanks and Containers. 6. American Welding Society A 60-65, Safe Practices for Welding and Cutting Containers that Have Held Combustibles. 7. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, OSHA. \ G. When working in hazardous locations, the Contractor shall use spark-proof tools, explosion-proof temporary lighting, and shall not use electric power tools, open flame devices, electric welding, or any device or methods which might conceivably cause ignition or an explosion, unless specifically permitted by the City. If the Contractor anticipates that the use of spark producing equipment and methods may be necessary, specific approval by the City for such use will be granted only under the following conditions and under such other special conditions that the City may find prudent to impose in order to cover unforeseen circumstances. 1.
