Joint Subcommittee on Training and Apprenticeship. To carry out the intent and purposes of this Article, a subcommittee of the Labor Management Committee established pursuant to Article 17 shall be established, jointly chaired by a designee of the District and a designee of the Council, to oversee the identification and/or effective development of procedures and programs leading to the establishment of District Joint Labor Management Apprenticeship Programs, and to work with representatives of each apprenticeship committee and representatives of the District’s Joint Labor Management Apprenticeship Programs, if established during the term of this Agreement, to establishing appropriate criteria for recognition by Apprenticeship Programs of the educational and work experience possessed by District students and graduates toward qualifying for entry or advanced level in the Apprenticeship Programs. The Joint Subcommittee will cooperate with and assist the District to facilitate students’ entrance into the Apprenticeship Programs. The Subcommittee will meet as necessary at the call of the joint chairs to promptly facilitate its purposes in an expeditious manner as soon as this CSWPA becomes effective. In addition to the joint chairs, the membership of the committee will consist of at least three representatives of the signatory local Unions and three representatives of Contractors signatory to this CSWPA and experienced in overseeing and participating in Apprenticeship Programs.

The Subcommittee will meet as necessary at the call of the joint chairs to promptly to facilitate its purposes in an expeditious manner as soon as this Agreement becomes effective. In addition to the joint chairs, the membership of the committee will consist of at least three representatives of the signatory local Unions and three representatives of contractors signatory to this Agreement and experienced in overseeing and participating in joint labor management apprenticeship programs (or organizations to which the contractors belong).

The Subcommittee will meet as necessary at the call of the joint chairs to promptly facilitate its purposes in an expeditious manner as soon as this Agreement becomes effective. In addition to the joint chairs, the membership of the committee will consist of at least three representatives of the signatory local Unions and three representatives of Contractors signatory to this Agreement and experienced in overseeing and participating in Labor/Management Apprenticeship Programs (or organizations to which the Contractors belong).
Joint Subcommittee on Training and Apprenticeship. The District has made substantial public investment in its workforce development system, including the establishment of the Pasadena ACE (Architecture, Construction and Engineering) internship program initiated in February, 2011 to connect District high school juniors and seniors to careers in architecture, engineering and construction. The goal of the District and the District community based partners is to create job opportunities in industries such as construction, which are vital to the economic health of the local economy, have a capacity to generate a significant number of jobs, are accessible to low and middle income individuals, have career ladder opportunities where workers move up with additional training and skill development and provide access to living wage and family sustaining jobs. The ACE Program is the District’s training workforce program initiated to serve as a training vehicle for local residents to enter into construction related trades. The Parties to this Agreement, including individual Unions, support the development of an increased number of skilled construction workers from among the residents of the District to meet the labor needs of the Project Work, specifically, and the requirements of the local construction industry generally. Toward that end, the Parties, and each of the Unions agree to cooperate respecting the establishment of a work opportunities program for District residents, the primary goals of which shall be maximize construction work opportunities for District residents. Attached hereto as Attachment D are the terms of the Union and Council’s commitment under this Article.   • STUDENTS AND APPRENTICES Payments which a student or business apprentice who is or was immediately before visiting a Contracting State a resident of the other Contracting State and who is present in the first-mentioned State solely for the purpose of his education or training receives for the purpose of his maintenance, education or training shall not be taxed in that State, provided that such payments arise from sources outside that State.

  • Apprenticeship Program The parties agree to meet to discuss the development of mutually agreeable apprenticeship programs. The specific provisions of the apprenticeship programs shall be subject to agreement between the City, the Civil Service Commission (where appropriate), and the Union. Each apprenticeship program, however, shall contain at least the following terms:

  • Joint Safety Committee (a) The Union and the Company shall cooperate in selecting one or more Safety Committees, which will meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems. (b) The local Joint Safety Committee shall consist of equal representation from Company and Union. This Committee shall meet at least once a month to consider all safety and occupational health problems.

  • Training and Education SECTION 1 – Law Enforcement Supervisors’ Training

  • Apprenticeship 7.01 At such time, the parties agree to a training program, it is agreed to contact the California Nevada JATC to establish such program.

  • Training Committee The parties to this Agreement may form a Training Committee. The Training Committee will be constituted by equal numbers of Employer nominees and ETU employee representatives and have a charter which clearly states its role and responsibilities. It shall monitor the clauses of this Agreement which relate to training and ensure all employees have equal access to training.

  • Training Programs All employees shall successfully complete all necessary training prior to being assigned work (e.g., all employees will complete health and safety training prior to being assigned to task). Nothing in this Article or provision shall constitute a waiver of either party’s bargaining obligations or defenses. The Employer still has an obligation to notify and bargain changes in terms and conditions of employment with the exclusive representative.

  • Apprenticeship Requirements The Contractor shall comply with Section 230.1(A), California Code of Regulations as required by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standards by submitting DAS Form to the Joint Apprenticeship Committee of the craft or trade in the area of the site.

  • LABOR/MANAGEMENT COMMITTEES A. Statewide

  • Health & Safety Committee The Employer agrees to establish a Health & Safety Committee for all employees of the company under the auspices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA). The Committee shall be made up of an equal number (not less than one each) of non-bargaining unit and bargaining unit persons who have completed their probationary period. The Union has the right to appoint the members representing the bargaining unit. The Committee shall keep minutes of its meetings and post them in the shop. One copy will be forwarded to the Union office.
