Jury Duty and Official Appearance Leave. 9.1 Teachers will be provided leave for regularly called jury duty and to appear as a witness in court, other than as a litigant. The teacher shall communicate a request for an approved absence as soon as possible prior to the beginning of the date of the leave or as a witness. 9.2 The teacher, while serving jury duty, shall receive regular earnings from the District. 9.3 A unit member who voluntarily defers his/her jury duty service from working to non- working days, will receive substitute teaching pay for the actual time spent on a jury service during a recess (non-working) period.

Not more than two percent (2%) of the classified service shall be granted paid Jury Duty Leave at any one time, and employees summoned for Jury Duty in excess of said two percent (2%) limit shall be given written verification of said excess by the District. 11.2.5 On days the employee is scheduled to serve jury duty or appear in court in addition to any notification required by the Court, the employee shall notify the immediate administrator or timekeeper of illness, or any other valid reason for failure to report, normally prior to the designated starting time for each work day, but not later than fifteen (15) minutes thereafter.

  • Jury Duty and Subpoena Leave Leaves of absence with pay shall be granted for jury duty. Any compensation received for jury duty performed on contracted days shall be deducted from the employee's salary. The employee shall notify the District when notification to serve on jury duty is received. Leaves of absence with pay shall be granted when an employee is subpoenaed to appear in a court of law.   • Jury Duty and Witness Leave During the time an employee is actually reporting to the court for jury duty and following receipt of "Certificate of Jury Service" (Jury Form 4), the Department Head or his/her designate will convert the employee's usual shift to a regular five-day Monday through Friday day-shift basis.   • Jury and Witness Duty Leave 23.01 Employees who have been summoned to be a juror or witness by any body in Canada with the power to subpoena shall supply their supervisor with a copy of the summons as soon as possible after receipt of same. 23.02 Employees who have complied with Article 23.01 shall be given leave of absence without loss of normal salary during such service, provided that upon return to work they shall supply their supervisor with written confirmation of the dates on which they served, signed by an official of the Court or by the counsel for the party who required their attendance.

  • Jury Duty Leave A regular, limited-term or probationary employee who is called for jury duty or for examination for jury duty shall be compensated at the employee's regular rate of pay for those hours of absence due to the jury duty which occur during the employee's regularly scheduled working hours provided the employee deposits the employee's fees for such hours of jury duty, exclusive of mileage, with the County Treasurer. Fees for jury duty performed during hours other than regularly scheduled working hours may be retained by the employee. Any hours worked beyond the regularly scheduled workday shall be subject to the workweek and overtime provisions (Article I). An employee may request a change in regularly scheduled working hours to a Monday through Friday day shift for the duration of such jury duty. Such requests shall be granted if practicable.
