Paid Jury Duty Leave. A jury duty leave shall be granted to any employee who is obligated to serve as a juror in court. The employee shall receive full pay for the employee’s regularly scheduled hours of work during such leave, provided the employee informs the Employer within three (3) working days after receiving a jury summons, and provided further that the employee pays over to the Employer all juror fees, excluding mileage, received by the employee. Any employee who is excused from jury service during regularly scheduled work hours shall report for work for the remainder of the day.

Paid Jury Duty Leave. Leave of absence without loss of pay shall be given to an employee, other than an employee on leave of absence without pay, or under suspension, who is required to serve on a jury. In such instances, the employee will receive full pay from the Association and in turn will turn over to the Association all remuneration, with the exception of meal, accommodation and travel allowances, received for jury service. The Employer will pay the employee at his/her regular hourly wage rate for regularly scheduled hours missed due to jury duty, less any jury duty fees (but not transportation and parking compensation) received from the court by the employee. The employee is responsible for submitting documentation of time served on jury duty and the amount of compensation received from the court.

Paid Jury Duty Leave. All regular full-time employees, and regular part-time employees classified as Cooks and 14 Dispatchers and regular part-time employees working in the Planning, Resources and Land Management 15 Departments who are normally scheduled to work at least forty (40) hours during a biweekly pay period, 16 and all other regular part-time employees who are normally scheduled to work at least thirty-seven and 18 employee's regular work hours will be paid the difference between the employee's regular wages and 19 jury duty pay, including mileage (except mileage for jury duty in Federal Court). An employee on jury 20 duty during regular work hours shall return to work each day as soon as possible after being released 21 from jury duty.   • Jury Duty Leave A regular, limited-term or probationary employee who is called for jury duty or for examination for jury duty shall be compensated at the employee's regular rate of pay for those hours of absence due to the jury duty which occur during the employee's regularly scheduled working hours provided the employee deposits the employee's fees for such hours of jury duty, exclusive of mileage, with the County Treasurer. Fees for jury duty performed during hours other than regularly scheduled working hours may be retained by the employee. Any hours worked beyond the regularly scheduled workday shall be subject to the workweek and overtime provisions (Article I). An employee may request a change in regularly scheduled working hours to a Monday through Friday day shift for the duration of such jury duty. Such requests shall be granted if practicable.

  • JURY DUTY PAY All employees required to serve on jury duty shall be paid by the School District the difference between their regular pay and jury duty pay. In implementing this section, the School District shall continue to pay the employee the regular rate of pay and the employee shall be obligated upon receipt of the jury duty pay from the governmental agency to immediately remit any witness fees received to the School District less any mileage expenses. Absences under this section shall not be deducted from accumulated leave.

  • Civic Duty Leave A. Employees summoned for jury duty will be granted a leave of absence with pay for time lost from their regular work schedule while on said jury duty upon presentation of the appropriate summons to the department head by the employee. B. An employee who receives jury fees for jury service upon presentation of the appropriate court certificate of service, shall either: 1. Retain such jury fees in lieu of pay for the period of jury service if the jury fees exceed his/her regular rate of compensation for the period involved; or 2. E. All fees for court service except jury fees paid for service rendered during office hours must be paid to the Commonwealth. Any fees paid to an employee for court service performed during a vacation period may be retained by the employee. The employee shall retain expenses for travel, meals, rooms, etc. F. An employee on court leave who has been excused by the proper court authority shall report to his/her official duty station if such interruption in court service will permit four or more consecutive hours of employment. Court leave shall not affect any employment rights of the individual. G. No court leave shall be granted when the employee is the defendant or is engaged in personal litigation.

  • Paid Jury or Court Witness Duty Leave The Employer shall grant leave of absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who serves as a juror or witness in any court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee the difference between normal earnings and the payment received for jury service or court witness, excluding payment for traveling, meals or other expenses. The Employee will present proof of service and the amount of pay received. Time spent by an Employee required to serve as a court witness in any matter arising out of her employment, shall be considered as time worked at the appropriate rate of pay.

An employee shall be allowed time off without loss of compensation if approved by the department head or designee for voluntary jury duty such as grand jury. If approved by the department, paragraphs B. and C. apply. E. For the purpose of this section, an employee summoned to jury duty may be required to adjust their work shift to an eight (8) hour schedule. F. An employee summoned to jury duty who does not serve for a full day or who is placed on "on-call" status shall return to work to complete his/her scheduled workday if reasonable time remains for such return. An employee may not be required to report back to work if he/she feels there is not reasonably enough time left in the workday and if the employee's supervisor concurs. Concurrence will not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Injury on Duty Leave An employee shall be granted injury-on-duty leave with pay for such reasonable period as may be determined by the Employer where it is determined by a Workers' Safety & Compensation Commission that he/she is unable to perform his/her duties because of:

Whenever any full-time permanent employee is required to be absent from work by a proper subpoena, issued by a court or commission legally empowered to subpoena witnesses, which compels the employee's presence as a witness, unless the employee is a party or an expert witness, the employee shall be allowed the time necessary to be absent from work at the employee's regular pay to comply with such subpoena, provided the employee deposits any witness fees, except mileage, with the County Treasurer.

  • Jury Duty and Crown Witness (a) Employees subpoenaed as a crown witness or for jury duty shall be paid the difference between their normal daily wages and the amount they receive for such public duty for any day on which they are scheduled to work; (b) Employees who must appear in court for reasons other than those mentioned in (a) shall be granted leave of absence without pay provided they supply the proof of service requiring such attendance.
