Leave for Union Position. An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union, Saskatchewan Federation of Labour or Canadian Labour Congress, shall be granted leave of absence without loss of seniority for a period of 1 (one) year. Such leave shall be renewed each year, upon request, during his term of office. Such employee shall continue to receive his salary and benefits from the Employer, conditional on reimbursement of such salary and full benefit costs by the Union to the Employer.

  • Leave for Union Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Union to attend Union business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions.   • Leave for Family Illness In the case of illness of a member of an employee’s immediate family, meaning spouse, son, daughter, father, mother, or person to whom the employee is legal guardian when no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs of the ill person, the employee may be granted, after notifying her immediate management supervisor, leave with pay up to five (5) working days per fiscal year, for the purpose of making such arrangements as are necessary to permit the employee’s return to work. The immediate management supervisor may require proof of the need for such leave as she considers necessary.

  • Bargaining Unit Seniority The length of continuous service in a position or succession of positions within Bargaining Unit Two (2), beginning with the last date of hire or transfer into the Bargaining Unit, as defined by seniority credits.
