Length of Sick Leave. When short-term absences extend longer than initially estimated, employees will contact Safety and Security Office to verify their status no less than weekly unless their leave is converted to long term health leave, at which time employees will comply with the provisions of Section C of this article.

Length of Sick Leave. If absence due to personal illness exceeds five (5) consecutive days during which the employee would normally be on duty, the Board of Education shall have the authority to request a “Physician’s Certificate” be completed and presented to the building principal or supervisor and hence forwarded to the treasurer.
Length of Sick Leave. If absence due to personal illness exceeds five (5) consecutive days during which the employee would normally be on duty, the Board shall have the authority to request a “Physician’s Statement” be completed and presented to the Superintendent, the building Principal, or supervisor verifying that the member is physically capable of returning to work.

Unit members on extended work year will accumulate additional sick leave in direct proportion to that of employees on regular work year.   • Accrual of Sick Leave a. A full-time employee shall accrue four (4) hours of sick leave for each biweekly pay period, or the number of hours that are directly proportionate to the number of days worked during less than a full-pay period, without limitation as to the total number of hours that may be accrued.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above.   • Extension of Sick Leave Unless an employee otherwise requests in writing, an employee who has used up her sick leave credits shall be granted advanced sick leave with pay for a period up to fifteen (15) days subject to the deduction of such advanced leave from any sick leave credits subsequently earned.

After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.
