Leave for Illness or Injury. 9.2.1 Absence owing to illness or injury shall be with pay for a period not exceeding the accumulated sick leave credits as set out in Article 8.4.
9.2.2 Faculty members who have exhausted their sick leave credits shall be covered by the Short Term Salary Indemnity coverage in accordance with Article 8.8.1.
9.2.3 The College may require that a faculty member absent due to illness, submit to a medical examination by a qualified medical practitioner mutually agreed upon.
9.2.4 In keeping with the provisions of the salary indemnity insurance contract with the insuring company, any amount of sick leave benefits paid under this clause, ultimately recovered under a contract of motor vehicle insurance, shall be repaid directly to the College by the motor vehicle insurance underwriter and the corresponding number of sick leave credits restored to the account of the individual faculty member.
Leave for Illness or Injury. In-Line-of-Duty
A. An employee shall be eligible for leave for illness or injury-in-line-of-duty when he/she has to be absent from his/her duties because of a personal injury received in the discharge of duty or because of illness from any contagious or infectious disease contracted in school work.
B. The following requirements shall apply for this type of leave as defined above:
Leave for Illness or Injury. (a) In the event an employee is unable to work by reason of illness or injury, the Village may grant a leave of absence without pay during which time seniority shall not accrue in excess of the first fifteen (15) working days for so long as the employee is unable to work, except that for a work related injury compensable under workers' compensation, an employee shall accrue seniority for the first six (6) months of leave.
(b) To qualify for such leave, the employee must report the illness, injury or inability to work as soon as the illness or injury is known, and thereafter furnish to the Department or Division Head or their designee a physician's written statement showing the nature of the illness or injury and the estimated length of time that the employee will be unable to report for work, together with a written application for such leave. Thereafter, during such leave, unless bedridden, the employee may be required to personally appear at the Employer's premises and furnish a current illness or a non-job related injury report from the attending doctor at the end of every ten (10) working days.
(c) Before returning from leave of absence for injury or illness, or during such leave, the employee at the discretion of the Village may be required to have a physical examination by a doctor designated by the Village to determine the employee's capacity to perform work assigned. A leave of absence for illness or a non-job related injury will under no circumstances be granted until an employee's entire accrued sick leave is first exhausted.
Leave for Illness or Injury. In the event an employee is unable to work by reason of on-duty injury (including those compensable under workers’ compensation), the District shall grant a leave of absence during which time the employee shall accrue seniority. In the event that an employee is unable to work by reason of an off-duty injury or illness, the District may grant a leave of absence for not more than six months.
Leave for Illness or Injury. 18B.01 (a) Employees shall accumulate a Leave-for-Illness or Injury allowance of twelve (12) hours for each full month of uninterrupted service beginning in the first (1st) month of employment but no payment will be made before three
Leave for Illness or Injury. 7.3.1 Xxxx leave and extended illness leave are granted to an employee when he/she is unable to work on a day in which he/she was regularly scheduled to work, due to personal illness, injury, or quarantine. Every certificated unit member, employed five (5) days a week, shall be entitled to ten (10) days’ leave of absence for illness or injury with full pay for each school year of service. Certificated unit members, employed less than five (5) days a week or rendering less than a school years’ service, shall have their leave adjusted proportionately to their term of service.
7.3.1.1 Bargaining unit members shall be allowed to use sick leave for the care of immediate family members.
7.3.1.2 Certificated unit members working on a one hundred ninety-six (196) day contract shall be entitled to an additional half day leave of absence for illness or injury with full pay, with each school year of service, for a total of ten-and-a-half (10.5) days.
7.3.1.3 Certificated unit members working on a two hundred one (201) day contract shall be entitled to an additional three-quarters (.75) day leave of absence for illness or injury with full pay, with each school year of service, for a total of ten-and-three-quarters (10.75) days.
7.3.1.4 Certificated unit members working on a two hundred six (206) day contract shall be entitled to an additional full day leave of absence for illness or injury with full pay, with each school year of service, for a total of eleven (11) days.
7.3.1.5 If a pattern is documented in conjunction with the use of sick leave, the District reserves the right to investigate and discipline the unit member, which may include docked pay, written reprimand, or required notes for absences.
Leave for Illness or Injury. (Sick Leave) - Every classified employee employed five days a week by a District shall be entitled to 12 days leave of absence for illness or injury and such additional days, in addition thereto, as the governing board may allow for illness or injury, exclusive of all the days the employee is not required to render service to the district, with full pay for a fiscal year of service. A classified employee, employed five days a week, who is employed for less than a full fiscal year, is entitled to that proportion of 12 days leave of absence for illness or injury as the number of months the employee is employed bears to 12 and the proportionate amount, consistent with this formula, of such additional days, in addition thereto, authorized by the governing board for classified employees employed five days a week for a full fiscal year of service. A classified employee employed less than five days per week shall be entitled, for a fiscal year of service, to that proportion of 12 days leave of absence for illness or injury as the number of days the employee is employed per week bears to five and is entitled to the proportionate amount, consistent with this formula, of such additional days, in addition thereto, authorized by the governing board for classified employees employed five days a week for a full fiscal year of service.
1. Sick leave is cumulative, with no maximum limit set. Accumulated sick leave and the balance of sick leave for the current fiscal year may be used at any time. Should the employee use these days, and then leave employment of the District before sick leave is earned, a salary deduction will be made on the final salary warrant.
2. At the beginning of a fiscal year, employees shall be credited with the number of days of sick leave they shall earn that year. except for probationary employees, who are entitled to only six days of sick leave before serving six months.
3. Notification of illness or injury shall be made directly to the employee’s Department at the earliest feasible moment. If the Department is not open, notification shall be made to Diversity and Human Resources at the earliest feasible moment. Notification must occur not later than one-half hour after the start of the work shift in order to be eligible for paid sick leave, unless notification by such time is not feasible. However, in the case of the graveyard shift, notification shall be at least one hour before the first shift starting time unless it is not feasible to do so. ...
Leave for Illness or Injury. 13.4.1 A classified employee employed forty (40) hours a week is entitled to eight (8) hours of sick leave for each month of employment during the college year for illness or injury, without loss of pay, cumulative indefinitely. An employee must be in paid status for more than one-half (1/2) of the month's normal working hours in order to qualify for sick leave credit for that month. (Education Code §88191)
13.4.2 A classified employee employed less than forty (40) hours per week shall be entitled to that proportionate amount of sick leave as the number of hours he/she is employed per week bears to forty (40). Sick leave for all part-time employees will be computed and charged on an hourly
Leave for Illness or Injury. In the event an employee is unable to work by reason of an on-duty injury (including those compensable under Workers’ Compensation), the Village shall grant a leave of absence to the extent required by law during which time the employee shall accrue seniority, as required by law. In the event that an employee is unable to work by reason of an off-duty injury or illness, the Village may grant a leave of absence after the employee exhausts all of his accrued sick leave as provided in Section 13.01, above. Before returning to work, the employee shall furnish a medical report from his doctor to the effect that the employee can perform the duties of his position. The Village may require, at its expense, that the employee undergo additional medical examinations.
Leave for Illness or Injury. In the event an employee is unable to work by reason of illness or injury and has exhausted other accumulated leave (i.e., sick leave, compensatory leave, vacation leave) the Town may grant a leave of absence without pay during which time seniority shall not accrue for so long as the employee is unable to work. In the event of a work-related injury compensable under Police-Fire Indemnification, the employee shall accrue seniority and all other benefits as set out in M.G.L. c. 41, Section 111F and M.G.L. c. 41, Section 100. Before returning from a leave of absence for injury, or during such leave, the employee, at the discretion of the Town, may be required to have a physical examination at the expense of the Town by a doctor designated by the Town to determine the employee's capacity to perform work assigned.
