Staff Development Committee. 9.2.2.1 Procedures and timelines for the use of staff development days shall be prepared by the Staff Development Committee.
9.2.2.2 The Staff Development Committee shall consist of:
(a) the Vice President of Instruction or designee (b) three (3) unit members selected by the Faculty Senate
Staff Development Committee. The Staff Development Committee shall consist of eleven (11) elected teachers, at least one of whom shall be a special education teacher, one representative from the non-licensed group, one school board member or her/his designee, a principal from each school level, the district curriculum and instruction director, one parent from the district, and one representative from a college of education in the community. The election of the eleven (11) teacher members is to be conducted by the exclusive representative. The length of term for each committee member will be two years. Teacher members of this committee shall be afforded release time without loss of pay for any meetings under this section that are called during the school day.
Staff Development Committee. The District and the Union affirm their commitment to an ongoing training program of staff development that will provide opportunities for employees to develop their professional skills and abilities. The goals of the training program will be to 1) improve the quality of support staff for the District, 2) make the most effective and economic use of employee and District resources in accomplishing common goals, and 3) enhance employees’ career advancement opportunities. The District and the Union agree to establish a Staff Development Committee composed of four (4) representatives appointed by the District and four (4) representatives appointed by the Union to ensure implementation of an ongoing training program for job related staff development and training within the financial parameters contained in this Agreement. The Committee is charged with developing the policies and procedures applicable for individuals or job-alike groups interested in specific staff development and/or training. These policies and procedures developed by the Committee will be distributed to bargaining unit members.
Staff Development Committee. The Staff Development Committee, a joint committee of teachers from each school, a representative from the Administration, and the Teachers Association president or designee, will meet on a regular basis to plan District Staff Development activities.
Staff Development Committee a) The Exclusive Representative shall make the selection of teachers for the School District Staff Development Committee.
b) The Staff Development Committee shall report the Staff Development Plans and budget to the Oversight Committee to ensure that staff development aligns with the Q Comp site goals.
Staff Development Committee. The District and Union hereby agree to the operation of a Classified Staff Development Committee as follows:
19.1.1 The committee shall be composed of no more than six (6) Union representatives appointed by the Union.
19.1.2 The committee shall remain in effect for the duration of this Agreement.
19.1.3 The committee purpose is to develop and implement staff development activities and to develop strategies for enhancing upward mobility for classified staff members. These activities may include, but are not limited to, personal development and cross training. The committee will work in cooperation with the District Staff Development Committee.
19.1.4 The District agrees to provide to the committee a minimum of $500 (five hundred dollars) to fund staff development activities approved by a majority vote of those committee members present.
19.1.5 All regular classified employees who wish to attend the Classified Retreat shall be granted one (1) day of release time. The Classified Retreat is scheduled annually on the Tuesday of Spring Break. All regular classified employees attending the retreat will be required to sign in for attendance. The attendance sign-in sheet shall be turned in to the Office of Human Resources, Training and Development.
Staff Development Committee. A. Establishment of the Committee The association and the board agree to establish a standing, joint staff development committee (SDC) for the purpose of advising on planning and presenting for staff development programs of teachers.
B. Composition The SDC will be comprised of teacher leaders (aka: department heads) and invited staff.
Staff Development Committee. The Association shall select all teacher representatives to the School District and Site Staff Development Committees. The Chair of the School District or Site Staff Development Committee(s) shall notify the Association President when a vacancy occurs.
Staff Development Committee. The Board and DE-TCH agree to form a joint study committee to evaluate the effectiveness and to recommend staff development for all teachers. DE and the Board of Education shall each appoint four (4) representatives. One representative from each party will co-chair the Staff Development Committee. The Staff Development Committee will meet at least annually at a mutually agreed upon time and make recommendations and report to the Superintendent of Schools.
Staff Development Committee. A committee composed of one elementary, one middle school and one high school employee appointed by the Association and two administrators appointed by the Superintendent shall recommend to the Districts topics for after school courses, workshops, conferences and programs designed to improve the quality of instruction. This committee shall be responsible for the implementation of these programs. The committee will submit a recommendation to the Superintendent for monetary needs regarding in-service. Final approval shall be made by the Superintendent. (2017)
