Minimum Class Size. A class may be cancelled for low enrollment prior to the start of the first day of the class except in special circumstances as determined by the Vice President of Academic Affairs. Except as provided herein, all classes must have a minimum of twenty (20) students enrolled and in regular attendance by the conclusion of the second official week of the class. In the case of classes scheduled at extensions, satellites, in certain classes where auditions are conducted prior to enrollment, or in specific classes designated as exceptions by the Vice President, Academic Affairs, the class must have a minimum of twenty (20) students enrolled and in regular attendance by the conclusion of the third official week of the class. The time shall be reduced proportionately for short-term classes (i.e., for nine [9] week classes, the number of students enrolled by the end of one and one-half [1- 1/2] weeks of class, etc.). Classes where more than one (1) teacher shares the teaching unit credit proportionately shall have a minimum class size of twenty (20). When attendance falls below twenty
Minimum Class Size. 20.2.3.1 The minimum class size shall normally be no less than eighteen (18) students in attendance, provided that the District may maintain classes of fewer than eighteen (18) and/or cancel classes pursuant to the provisions of this Article.
20.2.3.2 A class may be canceled at any time that funding becomes unavailable, the average attendance drops below eighteen (18) students for two consecutive weeks, or fewer than twenty (20) students initially enroll for the class.
20.2.3.3 Exceptions to the minimum of eighteen (18) students in attendance may be made by the District in classes offered irregularly, in classes which can be offered only in limited classroom or laboratory facilities, in classes which are part of an experimental or pilot program, in classes subject to statutory or state regulation controlling class size, and in classes whose cancellation would constitute a hardship to the District or an educational disadvantage to students.

The class size for credit classes shall normally be no fewer than twenty (20) enrollees, with it being understood that the District is authorized to maintain a limited number of classes of fewer than twenty (20) enrollees pursuant to the provisions of this Article. Exceptions to the minimum of twenty (20) students enrolled may be made by each college. Factors to be considered in deciding which class may be allowed with fewer than twenty (20) enrollments include:
Minimum Class Size. The District shall apply the following provisions concerning minimum class sizes to all lecture and lab classes with the exception of independent study, research, coordinated instructional systems and classes by arrangement with other entities.
a. The minimum enrollment shall be twenty (20) students.
b. Advanced or sequential classes that require prerequisite courses, the minimum shall be (15) students.
c. In summer sessions classes the minimum enrollment shall be the same as regular classes as set forth in 1 and 2 immediately above. The District may make exceptions to the above provisions concerning minimum class sizes in cases where instructors have other classes with large number of students, in courses required for graduation, in courses required in a major or in a career subject area, where the infrequency of a course requires it to be given, where there is a limited classroom size, in experimental programs, or in courses taught as overload without compensation.
Minimum Class Size. 1. As the college wishes to offer a comprehensive educational program that would maximize educational opportunities for its students, it may be necessary to maintain some classes that have low enrollments. A small class may be justified (for example):
a. if it is a final or advanced class in a sequence, b. if it is required to complete a major,

e. Contracts with outside agencies under which the District agrees to provide instruction;
f. Classes in which the enrollment was targeted below the contractual minimum class size as part of a Discipline Plan which fulfills the recommended WSCH/FTEF target established by the CEMC;
g. The District and the Faculty Association will negotiate over any increase in minimum class size.
Minimum Class Size. The College will have a minimum class size of eleven (11) or 50% of the maximum enrollment, whichever is less, for a class to proceed as a regular class. This will apply to over load and summer classes and excludes the Winter Session.

In the case of classes scheduled at extensions, satellites, in certain classes where auditions are conducted prior to enrollment, or in specific classes designated as exceptions by the Vice President, Academic Affairs, the class must have a minimum of twenty (20) students enrolled and in regular attendance by the conclusion of the third official week of the class. The time shall be reduced proportionately for short- term classes (i.e., for nine [9] eight [8] and twelve [12] week classes, the number of students enrolled by the end of one and one-half [1-1/2] weeks of class, xxx.xxx before Census). Classes where more than one (1) teacher shares the teaching unit credit proportionately shall have a minimum class size of twenty (20). When attendance falls below twenty (20) during this period of time, the class may be discontinued or combined with another class. Administrative support (e.g. marketing, social media, institutional effectiveness, etc.) shall be provided to reach the minimum class size. Departmental and division support may be provided to reach the minimum class size.Faculty may consult with department administration for resources to aid in reaching minimum class size.
10.13.1 When it is in the best interest of the educational program, the area xxxx may recommend
Minimum Class Size. 3.2.1 Minimum class size shall be twenty for all lecture, laboratory, and seminar classes.
3.2.2 Independent study and research classes are not subject to this minimum.
3.2.3 Exceptions to this minimum may be authorized by the Vice President, Academic Affairs. Exceptions may include but are not limited to courses required for graduation; courses required in a major or in career subject areas; courses offered irregularly based on enrollment and need, limited classroom or laboratory facilities, campus size, and geographical location; experimental or pilot programs; statutory and state regulations mandating class size; and a class of unanticipated small size as an unreassignable part of the faculty member’s regular load.
Minimum Class Size. Contractor shall provide the Services if the minimum number or more participants set forth in Exhibit “B” register for the designated class. Any increase or decrease in the minimum number of participants in a class requires the prior written consent of City. If the minimum number of participants is not registered by commencement of the first class, City may choose to cancel or continue the class based on enrollment trends and the piloting of new classes with the expectation that the class will develop and increase its number of participants during or after the current session. If City chooses to continue a class without having the minimum number of participants registered by the commencement of the first class, Contractor will be paid for the minimum number of participants set forth in Exhibit “B.” If a “new class” is canceled, Contractor will be compensated for the first class meeting. The term “new class” is defined as a class not offered by Contractor during either of the two previous sessions. The class is not a “new class” if Contractor has requested and been granted a change in time, location and/or format. Each class is designated by an activity enrollment number. Frequency of meeting times will vary from class to class.
