NAIDOC Week Leave. (a) An Employee of Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander descent is entitled to one day of paid leave per year to participate in National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week activities and events. 92 Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2016 (b) XXXXXX week leave will not accrue from year to year and will not be paid out on termination of the employment of the Employee.

NAIDOC Week Leave. 71.1 Employees may utilise time off in lieu of overtime (TOIL), flextime credits or other flexible working arrangements to attend and participate in National Aboriginal and Islander Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) week activities (e.g. NAIDOC March). 71.2 An employee must seek prior approval from their manager to utilise TOIL, flextime credits or other flexible working arrangements. Such requests should be supported, subject to an agency’s operational requirements. 71.3 An employee who does not have access to TOIL, flextime or other flexible working arrangements may be granted paid leave. Subject to operational requirements, the CEO may approve up to 3 hours per year of paid leave to facilitate the employee’s attendance at NAIDOC week activities.
NAIDOC Week Leave. This is a new clause to support all employees to attend NAIDOC activities. The clause provides for employees to access up to three hours of time off in lieu of overtime (TOIL) or other flexible work arrangement to attend NAIDOC week activities. Where employees do not have access to these arrangements a CEO may approve up to three hours of paid leave to facilitate the attendance at NAIDOC week activities.

  • BEREAVEMENT/TANGIHANGA LEAVE 18.1 The employer shall approve special bereavement leave on pay for an employee to discharge any obligation and/or to pay respects to a deceased person with whom the employee has had a close association. Such obligations may exist because of blood or family ties or because of particular cultural requirements such as attendance at all or part of a tangihanga (or its equivalent). The length of time off shall be at the discretion of the employer. 18.2 If a bereavement occurs while an employee is absent on annual leave, sick leave on pay, or other special leave on pay, such leave may be interrupted and bereavement leave granted in terms of 18.1 above. This provision will not apply if the employee is on leave without pay. 18.3 In granting time off and for how long, the employer must administer these provisions in a culturally sensitive manner.

  • Vacations; Leave The Employee shall be entitled to annual paid vacation in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Directors for executive employees and to voluntary leave of absence, with or without pay, from time to time at such times and upon such conditions as the Board of Directors may determine in its discretion.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Xxxxx’s leave 22.2.1 In normal circumstances an employee is not entitled to take carer's leave where another person has taken simultaneous leave to care for the same person. 22.2.2 The employee must, if required by the Employer, establish by production of a medical certificate or statutory declaration, the illness of the person concerned and that the illness is such as to require care by another. 22.2.3 The employee must where practicable, give the Employer notice prior to the absence of the intention to take leave, the name of the person requiring care and their relationship to the employee, the reason for taking such leave and the estimated length of absence. If it is not practicable for the employee to give prior notice of absence, the employee must notify the Employer by telephone of such absence at the first opportunity on the day of the absence. 22.2.4 The same considerations in quantum of carer’s leave applicable to part time Employees may be extended to eligible casuals but on an unpaid basis

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Xxxx Leave For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment, and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Period of Leave An employee shall be granted extended military leave for the initial period of enlistment, service, or tour of duty for a period not to exceed five (5) years. In addition, leave shall be granted for a period up to six (6) months from the date of release from duty if the employee requests such extension.

  • FMLA Leave The Board agrees to comply with the Family and Medical Leave Act and agrees that any policy adopted to implement the FMLA shall in no way reduce or adversely impact any other provision of this Agreement.
