Night Allowance Clause Samples

The Night Allowance clause defines the additional compensation provided to employees for working during designated nighttime hours. Typically, this clause specifies the time period considered as 'night work'—for example, hours worked between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.—and outlines the rate or percentage of extra pay employees are entitled to receive for such shifts. Its core practical function is to compensate employees for the inconvenience or increased difficulty of working at night, thereby encouraging coverage of less desirable shifts and ensuring fair treatment.
