Parent Participation. The Board understands the importance of parent participation in their child’s education. Consequently, AHCS will make every effort to facilitate opens lines of communication with all parents/guardians/acting custodians. In accordance with Board policy and state and federal law, parents/guardians/acting custodians will receive written notice regarding identification, evaluation, and/or placement of their child for special education or other special programs. Parents/guardians will be involved in all placement decisions regarding their child and have the right to request due process hearings at any time. Upon request, the parent of the student will be allowed to examine all relevant records relating to the student’s education and the school’s identification, evaluation and/or placement decision. If parents disagree with the determination, a request for a due process hearing may be made. The process will proceed as follows:
a. If the parent of a student who qualifies under IDEA, Section 504, or ADA for special instruction or related services disagree with a decision of AHCS with respect to: (1) the identification of the student as qualifying for IDEA, Section 504, or ADA; (2) AHCS’s evaluation of the student; and/or (3) the educational placement of the student, the parents of the student are entitled to certain procedural safeguards. The student will remain in his/her current placement until the matter has been resolved through the process set forth herein.
b. The parent of the student may make a request in writing for an impartial due process hearing. The written request for an impartial due process hearing will identify with specificity the areas in which the parent are in disagreement with AHCS;
c. Upon receipt of a written request for an impartial due process hearing, a copy of the written request will be forwarded to all interested parties within three (3) business days of receipt of the same;
d. Within ten (10) days of receipt of a written request for an impartial due process hearing, AHCS will select and appoint an impartial hearing officer that has no professional or personal interest in the matter. In that regard, AHCS may select a hearing officer from the list of special education hearing examiners available at the Office of Public Instruction, the county superintendent or any other person that will conduct the hearing in an impartial and fair manner;

Parent Participation. Parents are always welcome to drop in and visit their youth or join them for a meal. Parents will adhere to the program’s guidance policy while in the center. • Parents are strongly encouraged to join the Parent Advisory Board (PAB), which meets quarterly. The PAB is established to discuss program satisfaction and to provide any recommendations for improvement. Be responsible for coordinating an annual parent participation program in conjunction with program staff. • Parent information is displayed at the front desk, in the classrooms, emailed and on bulletin boards in the lobby. It is the responsibility of the parent to check the message areas daily.

Parent Participation. Notwithstanding anything else to the contrary set forth in this Agreement, including Sections 2.1(a), 2.1(b) and 2.2, in its capacity as a Backstop Party, the Parent shall be permitted to assign, or otherwise transfer its rights with respect to its Initial Subscription Right, Investment Right and Backstop Commitment (or agree to forgo such rights and conduct an offering of its allocation of the New Money Investment in an aggregate amount equal to the amount thereof), in each case, on terms and conditions as mutually agreed between the Parent and the Requisite Backstop Parties and, in each case, in a manner that would not prevent the offering, solicitation and sale of securities in the Rights Offering and New Money Investment to be exempt from registration pursuant to Regulation D of the Securities Act. In the event of any such transfer or rights offering, Parent, in its capacity as a Backstop Party, shall have no further obligations with respect to such transferred Initial Subscription Right, Investment Right and Backstop Commitment from and after the date of such transfer or the expiration of such rights offering.
Parent Participation. 5.6.1 Unit members at each site will meet with their site administrator(s) to mutually design and implement programs that invite and encourage parent participation.
5.6.1.1. The programs may include a continuation of "traditional" formats for Back-to-School, parent conferences, and Open House. The respective parties may implement alternative programs, including virtual, which best meet parent, student, and staff objectives at their individual sites.
5.6.1.2. The programs planned and presented at a site will include the participation of unit members at that site and will be held at a time that maximizes parent attendance. Participation in school support groups, such as parent-teacher associations is encouraged.
