Part Time Service Employees. Employees whose assignment is at least 25 hours/ week shall be eligible for benefits under 9-1. The fractional part of the full amount described in 9-1-1 shall be the service employee’s full-time equivalent multiplied by the amount of the benefits. The amount of sick leave, personal leave, holidays and bereavement shall continue as in 5-7-2. Part time employees pro-rata share of the monthly contribution will be made based on their assigned hours as of October 31. This pro-rata portion will remain constant until the subsequent assignment placement on October 31 in the next year. If the assignment changes by five or more hours per week, (up or down), adjustments will be made to contributions.

Part Time Service Employees. The hospital recognizes the Unifor-Canada Local 1106 as the exclusive bargaining agent for all employees regularly employed for not more than twenty-four (24) hours per week at the Grand River Hospital Corporation in the City of Kitchener, save and except professional medical staff, graduate nursing staff, undergraduate nurses, paramedical employees, office and clerical staff, supervisors, persons above the rank of supervisor, chief engineer, students employed during the school vacation period and employees in the bargaining unit for which any trade union holds bargaining rights. This clause shall be subject to a clarity note contained in the decision of the Ontario Labour Relations Board - File No. 3160-87-R dated May 18, 1988, except as amended as per the memorandum of agreement executed by the parties May 19, 1999. For the purpose of clarity, part-time employees occupying temporary full- time vacancies, (vacancies not expected to exceed six (6) months in length and pregnancy and parental leaves, which leaves may be extended upon mutual consent of the parties) shall not be included in the full-time bargaining unit.
