Payment for Holiday Work. If a holiday falls on a day on which an employee is scheduled to work on a holiday, that employee will be paid at time and one-half for Minor Holidays and double time for Major Holidays. When an employee works a double shift that falls entirely on a holiday, the affected employee shall receive the appropriate premium pay for the combined double shift. The final decision on all such schedules will be determined by the Administration.

Payment for Holiday Work. A full-time nurse who is required to work a holiday specified above will receive compensatory time or overtime pay at time and a half (1½) for the holiday hours worked plus seven (7) hours of straight time holiday pay, except in case of an emergency.
Payment for Holiday Work. Compensatory time, holiday leave, or overtime will not be paid or granted in connection with work on a holiday unless approved by a district/division commander on an Overtime Authorization Form (BSO AP#25).

Payment for Holiday Work. An Employee must not unreasonably refuse to work on a Public Holiday if requested by the Employer. Where an employee’s regular roster falls on a public holiday and are required to work, they shall receive the ordinary rate of pay appropriate to their classification. Penalties for 5 public holidays (38 hours) have been included in the hourly rates of pay at ATTACHMENT A. Where the Employee works more than the stipulated number of public holiday hours, he or she will receive the ordinary hourly rate of pay plus an additional 150% penalty for all of the extra time worked.

2. Employees regularly working less than eight (8) hours per day will receive their holiday pay on their regular workday basis, plus double time for hours worked.
3. Child Care/Giver Aides (ten-month) who work the week before Labor Day will receive Labor Day as a paid holiday beginning in 2010.
Payment for Holiday Work. Employees eligible for holiday pay under these provisions who are scheduled to work and who perform work on any of the above-named holidays shall be paid in accordance with Section 14.3 above; and in addition, twice their regular base hourly wage rates for all hours worked on such holiday.
