(a) An employee who is not at the maximum for her position is eligible to receive an increase after a year of paid service of no less than 2,080 hours of paid service, which does not include overtime hours.
(b) An employee who is at the maximum for her position and who has completed ten (10) full years (20,800 hours) service, shall receive the long service step.
(c) A Shelter Counsellor who obtains an Applied Counselling Skills Certificate shall receive an academic allowance above her hourly rate of one dollar ($1.00) per hour. The academic allowance will be applied to all paid hours following proof of certification submitted to the Executive Director.
(d) A Shelter Counsellor who obtains a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Counselling or a Women’s Studies Degree shall be paid at a Shelter Counsellor No. 2 pay scale following proof of certification submitted to the Executive Director or designate.

Hourly Rates of Pay. 7.1 All adult full-time, part time and casual employees will be paid in accordance with the relevant classification as set out in Schedule 1.
7.2 The hourly rates of pay, which apply at all times, are set out in schedule 2.
7.3 The ordinary hourly rates include a loading to compensate for all shift work, work performed on a Saturday and overtime penalties.
7.4 The employer shall pay an additional 50% for work performed on a Sunday and 100% for work performed on a Public Holiday.

7.6 Junior rates apply as a percentage of the adult rate as follows: • Under 18 years 60%; • 18 years old – 70%; • 19 years old – 90%, • 20 years old – adult rates.
7.7 Apprentice Chefs will be paid the following percentage of the Cook Tradesperson wage rate: • First year 55%, • Second Year 65%, • Third year 77.5%, • Fourth year 87.5%.

Hourly Rates of Pay. Hours – The hours of operation are at the sole discretion of the customer. At the time of this agreement they are 6am to 6pm Monday through Saturday. Shift Configuration & Scheduling – At present there are three (3) shifts available 5:30am to 10am (4.5 hours), 10am to 2pm (4 hours), and 2pm to 6:30pm (4.5 hours). The extra ½ hr beyond the route hours of operation in the morning and evening are to cover the time required to circle check the bus, sweep/clean as needed, wash the exterior of the bus, fuel as required, lock down the Xxxxxxx facility before leaving in the evening and on Saturday mornings, etc. The schedule shall be rotated weekly in such a manner that the closer in week one becomes the opener in week two, and the opener in week one becomes the mid shift for week two, the mid shift in week one becomes the closer for week two. The schedule and rotation are to remain in effect for the duration of this contract barring unforeseen consequences and situations. Hourly Rates of Pay. 00 Recognition of Previous Experience When a Nurse has produced proof or evidence of their previous satisfactory recent nursing experience, placement on the salary scale in Appendix "A" shall be in accordance with the following provisions. Recognition of previous experience will only be deemed as satisfactory and recent where the Nurse has not been away from active nursing for more than five (5) years. One (1) year of satisfactory recent nursing experience for the purpose of initial placement of a Nurse on the salary scale shall be equivalent to 2080 regular hours paid.
