Payroll Deduction for Dues. 1.2.1 The Union will provide dues and Union assessment deductions and termination forms. Termination forms will be made available at the Union Office and through the Paymaster in the Accounting Office. Termination forms must be signed by the Union Secretary or Treasurer and may be submitted during the first five (5) business days in January and the first five (5) business days in July only.
1.2.2 The city shall, for the duration of this Agreement and for any employee, who submits authorization thereof, deduct from such employee’s pay for each pay period of each month Union dues and assessments in an amount specified.

Payroll Deduction for Dues. A. The Municipality agrees to deduct the periodic union membership dues uniformly required by the Union as a condition of retaining membership in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Union from the pay of employees who individually and voluntarily certify that they authorize such deductions and who execute the "Authorization for Check-off of Dues" form.
B. For the purpose of this Article, the term "dues" shall not be deemed to include any fine, assessment, contributions or other forms of payment required from the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO members.
C. Union members who individually and voluntarily certify that they authorize such deduction assign to the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, from wages earned or to be earned from the Municipality as an employee, the regular periodic dues as may hereafter be established and become due to the Union as said membership dues in the Union.
D. The American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO and the Local Union jointly and separately agree to indemnify and save harmless the Municipality from any payments the Municipality may be required to make for the purpose of complying with the provisions set forth in Paragraph
Payroll Deduction for Dues. 22.1 Upon written authorization of any public employee within this bargaining unit, the District shall deduct from the pay of such public employee the monthly amount of dues, and only dues, as certified monthly by the secretary of the exclusive bargaining representative. This written authorization is revocable by the employee and the District will discontinue the authorization when the employee notifies the school District in writing that the authorization is at an end. The enrollment period for this deduction will be from July 1 to November 1 each year for regular employees and new employees will be given 60 days from employment date to enroll for payroll deduction for dues. Employees will be given this notification and explanation of this payroll procedure by the employer, when employed.
22.2 The bargaining representative shall indemnify the school District against any and all claims, demands, suits or other forms of liability that shall arise out of or by reason of action taken by the school District for the purposes of complying with any of the provisions of the payroll deductions.

Payroll Deduction for Dues. Teachers may, within fourteen (14) days of their commencement of employment, sign and deliver to the BOARD an Assignment of Wages Form, which is attached hereto and incorporated in the Agreement, which form authorizes the deduction of membership dues, assessments of the ASSOCIATION (including the National Education Association and Michigan Education Association) (see 3.15) and PAC contributions as allowable by law. The ASSOCIATION treasurer shall, in writing, annually notify the BOARD of the amount of dues for the year; such dues to be deducted equally over eighteen (18) pays commencing with the second pay. Such authorization shall continue in effect unless subsequent to June 15, or prior to September 1, of any year, such authorization is formally revoked by the teacher in writing and copies thereof are delivered to the ASSOCIATION and the BOARD. The ASSOCIATION agrees to reimburse any teacher from whose pay dues and assessments were deducted, those sums in excess of the total amount due to the ASSOCIATION at that time, provided the ASSOCIATION or its affiliate actually received the excessive amount.
