PEER ASSISTANCE AND PEER REVIEW (PAR. Effective on July 1, 2000, the mentor teacher program and all obligations, rights, activities, and practices related to that program automatically terminate. This article replaces the mentor teacher program (Article XXII) and implements the provisions of Chapter 4 of the statutes of 1999 with respect to the Peer Assistance and Review Program (PAR), as it may be amended, and any applicable regulations. The Association and the District are continuously striving to provide the highest possible quality of education. In order for students to succeed in learning, teachers must succeed in teaching. Therefore, the parties agree to cooperate in the design and implementation of programs to improve the quality of instruction through expanded and improved professional development and peer assistance. Teachers referred to or who volunteer for the program are viewed as valuable professionals who deserve to have the best resources available provided to them in the interest of improving performance to a successful standard.

A. Joint Committee 1. The Joint Committee shall consist of seven members, the majority of whom shall be certificated classroom teachers who are chosen to serve by the Association. The District shall choose the administrators on the Joint Committee. 2. The Joint Committee shall establish its own meeting schedule. To meet, two-thirds of the members of the Joint Committee must be present, including at least three unit members and two administrators. Teachers who are members of the Joint Committee shall be released from their regular duties to attend meetings, without loss of pay or benefits. In addition, teachers sitting on the Joint Committee shall receive an annual stipend of $1,500 to compensate for work performed outside the duty day resulting from their service as committee members. 3. The Joint Committee shall be responsible for the following: a. Providing annual training for the Joint Committee members, as needed. b. Establishing its own rules of procedure, including the method for the selection of a Chairperson. c. Selecting the panel of Consulting Teachers d. Selecting trainers and/or training providers. e. Providing training for Consulting Teachers prior to the Consulting Teacher's participation in the program. f. Sending written notification of participation in the PAR Program to the Referred Participating Teacher, the Consulting Teacher and the site principal. g. Making available the panel of Consulting Teachers for selection by the Participating Teacher. h. Adopting Rules and Procedures to the effect of this Article. Said Rules and Procedures will be consistent with the provisions of this Agreement, and to the extent there is an inconsistency, the Agreement will prevail. i. Making available a copy of the adopted Rules and Procedures to bargaining unit members and administrators, upon request.

PEER ASSISTANCE AND PEER REVIEW (PAR. 22.1 The District and the Association agree to establish a Peer Assistance and Review Program, pursuant to AB IX. To implement this provision, there shall be a Joint Council comprised of three (3) bargaining unit members appointed by the Association and two (2) District members appointed by the Superintendent. 22.2 The Joint Council shall select the Consulting Teachers, representing elementary, middle, and high school levels. The Council shall develop procedures for selecting the Consulting Teachers and for the duration of their assignments. 22.3 The Council shall develop the details necessary for proper implementation of this program, including the role and responsibilities of Joint Council members as defined in the Peer Assistance and Review Program guidelines. 22.4 Stipends for Joint Council members and Consulting Teachers will be based on the PAR stipend schedule as developed by the Joint Council in the Peer Assistance and Review Program guidelines. One hundred hours of service per year is expected of both Council members and Consulting Teachers

  • Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Consulting Teachers (CT) will be assigned to all new teachers with no prior teaching experience and tenured teachers rated ineffective on the qualitative measures at the end of the previous school year and recommended by the PAR Panel. Evaluations for Probationary and Ineffective Teachers:

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Section 1. The Employer agrees to provide to the Union the statistical and program evaluation information provided to management concerning Employee Assistance Program(s). Section 2. No information gathered by an Employee Assistance Program may be used to discipline an employee. Section 3. Employees shall be entitled to use accrued sick leave for participation in an Employee Assistance Program. Section 4. Each university will offer training to local Union Stewards on the Employee Assistance Program available in their university, on university time, where an Employee Assistance Program is available.

  • Volunteer Peer Assistants 1. Up to eight (8)

  • Turnover Assistance Grantee will provide any assistance and actions reasonably necessary to enable System Agency or its designee to effectively close out the Grant Agreement and transfer the performance and obligations of the Grant Agreement to another Grantee or to System Agency if necessary. Grantee agrees that this obligation survives the termination, regardless of whether for cause or convenience, or the expiration of the Grant Agreement and remains in effect until completed to the satisfaction of System Agency.

  • Quality Assurance Program An employee shall be entitled to leave of absence without loss of earnings from her or his regularly scheduled working hours for the purpose of writing examinations required by the College of Nurses of Ontario arising out of the Quality Assurance Program.

  • COUNTY’S QUALITY ASSURANCE PLAN The County or its agent will evaluate the Contractor’s performance under this Contract on not less than an annual basis. Such evaluation will include assessing the Contractor’s compliance with all Contract terms and conditions and performance standards. Contractor deficiencies which the County determines are severe or continuing and that may place performance of the Contract in jeopardy if not corrected will be reported to the Board of Supervisors. The report will include improvement/corrective action measures taken by the County and the Contractor. If improvement does not occur consistent with the corrective action measures, the County may terminate this Contract or impose other penalties as specified in this Contract.

  • Dependent Care Assistance Program The County offers the option of enrolling in a Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP) designed to qualify for tax savings under Section 129 of the Internal Revenue Code, but such savings are not guaranteed. The program allows employees to set aside up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) of annual salary (before taxes) per calendar year to pay for eligible dependent care (child and elder care) expenses. Any unused balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered by the employee.

  • Employee Assistance Program Neither the fact of an employee's participation in an employee assistance program, nor information generated by participation in the program, shall be used as a reason for discipline under this Article, except for information relating to an employee's failure to participate in an employee assistance program consistent with the terms to which the employee and the University have agreed.

  • Orientation Program The Company will allow a designated representative of the Local or Bargaining Unit up to one (1) hour per calendar month for the purpose of conducting the Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union New Members’ Orientation Program. Such meetings will be conducted during the probationary period of employees, and will be held on Company premises. Employees participating in Orientation Program meetings during their normally scheduled working hours will not suffer loss of pay at their regular rate. Orientation Program meetings will be scheduled by Management and a Management representative may attend as an observer.
