Position Leave. When an employee is elected as the Union's President or First Vice-president (Provincially) the Union will immediately following such election advise the Employer of the name of the employee so elected. Leave of absence shall be granted from the employee's place of employment for the duration of the current term of office. The Union shall reimburse the Employer the amounts paid on behalf of the employee, including pay and benefits. Where an individual of the bargaining units represented centrally by is elected or appointed as an Executive Board Member, Executive member of the central negotiating committee, member of Medical Division Executive or as a Membership Development Trainee, such individual shall be granted leave of absence for the time off required to exercise the duties of such appointment. The notice requirements to obtain such time off shall be governed in accordance with the leave of absence policy and procedure of the affected Hospital. Such positions shall be limited to two (2) members from a Hospital with no more than one individual from within a within a Department. For leaves of absence without pay for Union business under the terms of this Agreement, including unpaid leave for members of the Central Negotiating Team, the employee's salary and applicable benefits will be maintained by the Hospital and the Union will reimburse the Hospital for the cost of salary and benefits. The Hospital will bill the Union and the Union will reimburse the Hospital within a reasonable period of time. In addition, there shall be no loss of seniority during such leaves of absence. (The following clause will appear in all collective agreements replacing any provision related to Bereavement Leave that existed in the Hospital's expiring collective agreements:) Bereavement Leave Any employee who notifies the Hospital as as possible following a bereavement will be granted bereavement leave for up to three (3) consecutive scheduled working days without loss of regular pay from regularly scheduled hours within the seven (7) calendar day period commencing three (3) calendar days prior to the day the a member of his immediate family. Immediate family, for the purposes of this section, shall mean spouse, child, parent, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and grandparent of spouse.   • Transition Leave At the Appointing Authority’s discretion an employee under notice of permanent layoff may be granted up to one hundred and sixty (160) hours of paid leave, ending at the date of layoff. Hours of leave may be granted at any time throughout the layoff notice period and shall not be subject to the Application and Reinstatement provision of this Article.

  • Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:

  • Union Leave Leave of absence for Union business shall be given without pay up to a maximum of (as per the local provisions under L19) days per calendar year provided such leave does not interfere with the continuance of efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave shall be subject to the following conditions:

  • Recall from Vacation Leave Where, during any period of vacation leave, an employee is recalled to duty, such employee shall be reimbursed for reasonable expenses, as normally defined by the Employer, that such employee incurs:

  • Education Leave (a) If required by the Employer, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications.

  • Graduation Leave It is understood that in the case of secondary or post secondary graduation of self or spouse, son or daughter, one day leave with pay shall be granted. Two (2) days leave with pay shall be granted where travel arrangements necessitate such absence from school.

  • FMLA Leave FMLA leave may be used for:

  • ’ Compensation Leave If such determination cannot readily be made and all healthcare leave or annual leave subject to 100% payoff has been applied to the absence, the employee shall be placed on Official Leave until a final determination is made.
