Probation on Promotion. (a) The CAO must reassign a merit system employee who has been promoted if the employee's performance in the new position has been inadequate during probation. The CAO must reassign the employee to a position at the same grade as the employee had before the employee was promoted. The CAO must not separate or reduce the grade of another employee to reassign the employee who was promoted. (b) The department director must give the employee at least 30 calendar days written notice of the employee's removal from the promoted position.

Probation on Promotion. 9.3.1 A permanent employee who has been promoted shall serve the probationary period for such class equivalent to that stipulated on initial employment. 9.3.2 An employee who is promoted during initial probation shall commence the usual probation period in the new position. If the employee does not qualify reversion to the original position may take place, in which case the remainder of the original probation period shall be served. 9.3.3 A permanent employee, who is on probation shall upon promotion complete the usual probationary period. If the employee fails the probation, he shall revert to the position held prior to probation. 9.3.4 If the employee in the former position held a position with the Village, he/she will revert back to his/her former position. If a new employee exists, he/she will be terminated.

Probation on Promotion. (a) If a continuous employee is promoted to a higher paying position he/she shall be placed on probation for a period of six (6) months. Upon successful completion of probation the employee shall be confirmed in the position. In the event that the employee proves unsatisfactory in the new position during the probationary period, or if the employee requests in writing to return to his/her former position during the probationary period, the employee shall be returned to the former position or shall be given another position for which he/she is qualified in the same geographical location at an equivalent salary to the position he/she was promoted from, except where the employee was terminated for cause. There shall be no loss of service seniority; any position seniority earned prior to the promotion shall be restored upon such demotion. Any other employee promoted or transferred because of the re-arrangement of positions shall also be returned to his/her former position without loss of seniority. (b) Probation on promotion does not affect an employee's benefit entitlements. Service seniority is also not affected, just position seniority.

Probation on Promotion. A member who is promoted to a regular position in a higher rank will be on probation for a period of six (6) months of service. Such probation period will exclude any absence from work or time in attendance at a training course which exceeds five (5) working days. Provided that the member’s period of probationary service is satisfactory, appointment to the higher rank will be confirmed by the Chief Constable immediately upon completion of the probationary period.

If the Employee is non-permanent, their services shall be terminated. 8.6.2 If the Employee voluntarily reverts they shall not be eligible for promotion or auto - progression for six (6) months. If the Employee is involuntarily reverted by the Employer they shall not be eligible for promotion for one (1) year.
