Promotional Pay. An employee who is promoted to a higher classification shall be paid at the salary step which represents at least a two (2) step increase over the salary received immediately prior to the promotion. The Director of Human Resources may authorize more than a two (2) step increase. All promotional increases must be within the salary range for the class.
Promotional Pay. 844 When a unit member is promoted to a higher classification, the unit 845 member will be entitled to placement in the appropriate range and step 846 that provides no less than a five percent (5%) increase.
Promotional Pay. Employees receiving a promotion to a rank in this bargaining unit or a bargaining unit employee receiving a promotion to a higher rank in this bargaining unit shall be placed in a step in the appropriate scale that shall afford such employee an increase in the hourly rate.
Promotional Pay. 2.5.1 The City agrees that all promotions within the unit shall result in a minimum five percent (5%) increase in pay for the affected employee.
Promotional Pay. Employees promoted to a higher classification shall be placed into the new pay range at step 6 or at a step no less than 5% increase above their current salary, whichever is greater. The City shall continue the above practice for promotional salary increases.

Upon promotion, Mid-Management employees will receive a minimum increase of five (5%) percent in base salary; however, the increase shall not exceed the final step designated in the Wage and Salary Plan for the classification. The end of probation shall establish the employee’s new anniversary date. There shall be no merit increase for six months (upon completion of probation) following the promotion.

Upon promotion or reclassification an employee will be compensated in the new title at the rate of pay assigned to the new title or thirty-five cents (.35) an hour which ever is the greatest. If the employee is making more than the starting salary, he/she shall receive thirty-five cents (.35) more an hour.

Promotional Pay. Upon promotion safety personnel (as it applies for Sergeant to Lieutenant and Lieutenant to Captain) will receive a minimum increase of five percent (5%) in base salary or Step 6, whichever is greater. The pay increase shall not exceed the final step designated in the Wage and Salary Plan for the classification pursuant to the City’s Personnel Rules. At the discretion of the Police Chief, a promoted individual from any other rank may be placed at a any step up to and including step 6.
