PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. Protective clothing and safety equipment such as safety footwear and glasses will be provided where the nature of work requires it and to enable employees to perform their duties in a safe and appropriate manner. Where employees are required to purchase their own safety equipment those employees shall be reimbursed the cost on production of receipt.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 20.01 Uniforms for Service Workers and Cooks
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 27.01 The Corporation will continue its present practices regarding protective clothing and, in addition, will supply (a) goggles to persons chipping cement; (b) To each man classified as (1) Distributor Operator, two (2) pairs of overalls and one (1) pair of heavy leather boots each year; (2) Tree Climber, Tree Climber Trainee, two (2) pairs of coveralls and one (1) pair of climbing boots each year; (3) Mechanic, Night Service Man, Welder, U.S.O., Utilities Worker and asphalt workers, five (5) pairs of clean overalls each week. (c) The Corporation agrees to make an annual payment of one hundred and twenty-five ($125) dollars to each regular employee in January of each year and each casual employee upon return to employment, who is required to wear CSA-Certified Grade 1 footwear bearing the green triangle patch and who wears such footwear. Effective January 1, 2006 the Corporation agrees to make payment of one hundred and fifty ($150) for safety footwear. (d) two (2) sets of coveralls, of which one pair may be insulated or alternately a ¾ length insulated jacket at the discretion of the employee, such clothing to be cleaned and maintained by the employee, but remain the property of the Corporation. 27.02 The Corporation may discontinue the practices provided for in Section 27.01 if their methods change, or if employees do not comply with reasonable rules in connection therewith. 27.03 The clothing and safety equipment issued remains the property of the Corporation for which the employee is accountable; and except as otherwise specified, the cleaning and maintenance of the clothing and safety equipment shall be the responsibility of the employee. 27.04 The Corporation will insure the tools of the licensed vehicle mechanics against loss or theft while in use in the Corporation's service.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. (a) Each year, cotton gloves and overalls shall be provided as needed to all employees who require them to perform their work. If the University decides that additional protective clothing is necessary, it shall supply the clothing to the employees. (b) The University shall ensure that the equipment and workplaces conform to the Act respecting occupational health and safety. (c) The University shall consider the employees’ recommendations regarding safety equipment. (d) The University shall provide a uniform (coats, wind-breakers, pants and shirts) and safety glasses. The University handles the cleaning of the uniforms and provides what is necessary for the cleaning of the safety glasses. (e) The University shall provide raincoats and winter coats to employees who require them to perform their work. (f) Each year, the University shall provide a pair of safety boots, a pair of shoes, or, where prescribed by a physician, a pair of orthopedic boots, which must be worn during working hours. The range of models offered shall be subject to an agreement between the Union and the University. If an employee must purchase them himself, the University shall reimburse the expenses reasonably incurred.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 20.1 Rubber boots, rubber gloves and other protective clothing shall be provided to such Employees as designated by the Employer. Safety glasses shall be provided as required. Where prescription safety glasses are required they, shall be provided as required to a maximum of one hundred and sixty ($160) dollars. All employees shall be eligible to receive a replacement issue of the above on a one-for-one basis when such article is returned to supervisor and proves to be either damaged or rendered unusable as a result of the Employee’s work activities, or worn out as a result of normal wear. Safety glasses as provided under this clause are exclusive to any vision care coverage provided under Schedule “E”. (a) An Employee required to wear safety shoes or boots shall be supplied initially with one (1) pair of safety boots or safety shoes and one (1) pair of winter safety boots by the Employer, each such safety shoes or boots and winter safety boots not to exceed a total cost of one hundred and fifty ($150) dollars. In the event the Employee does not complete his probationary period, the Employer's cost of issued safety footwear shall be deducted from his final pay cheque. All Employees in receipt of safety boots, safety shoes or winter safety boots, shall be eligible to receive a replacement issue of the above on a one-for-one basis when such article is returned to supervisor and proves to be either damaged and rendered unusable as a result of the Employee's work activities, or worn out as a result of normal wear for such safety boots, safety shoes or winter safety boots. (b) Each Employee shall receive the following clothing allotment.: Individual articles of clothing will be replaced on a one-for-one basis when such article is returned to the supervisor and proves to be either damage and rendered unusable as a result of the Employee’s work activities or worn out as a result of normal wear.

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 47.1 Where the Employer requires an employee to wear protective clothing or a uniform such protective clothing or uniform as is reasonably required shall be provided and, as necessary, repaired and replaced by the Employer. Any issue of protective clothing or uniforms shall remain the property of the Employer. 47.2 Where the Employer provides safety equipment it shall be used by the employees. 47.3 Where the Employer provides safety equipment the Employer shall maintain such equipment to the required standard and where necessary replace such equipment.

The model and maximum price to be paid by the University shall be established each year by the Health and Safety Committee.
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT shall be provided by the Board as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code thereto at no cost to the Employee.

As per industry standards, Plumbing Staff Solutions will supply to the Tradesperson protective clothing, which shall include one bluey jacket, two pairs of overalls / pants, one pair of safety boots, one pair of safety glasses, one pair of earmuffs and a safety helmet and shall replace this equipment on a fair wear and tear basis 9.2. The Host Employer may be required to supply equipment other than is listed above depending on the environment of the work activity to be carried out.
