Public Health Emergency Leave. 8-16-1 In addition to the paid sick leave set forth in Section 8-2 of this Agreement, on the date that a public health emergency is declared, the District will immediately provide each employee with a one-time paid leave supplement, which, combined with whatever accrued but unused sick leave that the employee has as of date of the declaration of the public health emergency, will give an employee who normally works 40 or more hours in a week access to 80 hours of total paid leave, and an employee who normally works under 40 hours in a week access to total paid leave hours that are at least the greater of the number of hours the employee (a) is scheduled for work or paid leave in the upcoming fourteen-day period, or (b) actually worked on average in the fourteen-day period prior to the declaration of the public health emergency.

Public Health Emergency Leave. 7.A.2.a. During any period of public health emergency as determined by state and/or local official(s) the Employer will permit expanded use of personal leave days, personal illness leave days, and family illness for a public health emergency related illness or quarantine. The expanded leave is available for any Employee if they meet one of the following eligibility reasons: (1) if an Employee is mandated to quarantine because of the public health emergency or the Employee is ill because of the public health emergency, or (2) if the Employee’s dependent child(ren) is mandated to quarantine because of the public health emergency or the Employee’s dependent child(ren) is ill because of the public health emergency and the Employee needs to be home to take care of the child(xxx). Once an Employee’s personal leave and personal illness leave are exhausted, an Employee may petition the sick leave bank committee for additional paid leave days.
Public Health Emergency Leave. The Public Health Emergency Leave is intended for employees to assist in protecting their jobs when they have been directed to isolate as ordered by: their employer; the government; their doctor; or the chief medical health officer of the province. Employees who are required to isolate themselves or care for their child or adult family who have been affected by an order or direction of the Government of Saskatchewan or an order of the chief medical health officer are eligible. Employees will be entitled to leave for the length of time they are ordered by their employer, government, their doctor or the chief medical health officer to remain away from work. The Public Health Emergency Leave is an unpaid leave. However, employees are entitled to be paid their regular wages if their employer authorizes them to work from home during the period of time as set out by the order of the chief medical health officer or government.
Public Health Emergency Leave. The Public Health Emergency Leave shall be a source for additional leave days when a bargaining unit member is sick or unable to perform their normal duties due to either the employee's own health needs or to care for family members. The days paid will not be dedcuted from acculumated leave days.
Public Health Emergency Leave. The County complies with all applicable state and federal leave laws. Bargaining Unit employees shall consult with People and Culture and the Xxxxx County Employee Manual (dated Effective January 5, 2021) for specific terms, conditions, and procedures as they relate to the above.

  • Personal Emergency Leave 1. A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations other than personal illness beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. Deductions from the gross pay of a teacher for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken.

  • Health Leave Any regular employee of the District may, at the discretion of the Board, be granted a leave of absence without pay for reasons of health, such leave to be specified for a period of not more than one year. Such leave may be extended in case of serious health conditions.

  • Emergency Leave Notwithstanding any provision for leave in this Agreement, the Employer may grant leave of absence with or without pay to an employee in emergency or unusual circumstances. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied.

  • Personal Medical Leave 1. Accrued 100% sick leave may be used at the employee's discretion. Such leave may be taken before or after the vacation described in No. 3 below.

  • Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness Leave a) Family Medical Leave or Critical Illness leaves granted to a permanent Teacher or long-term Occasional Teacher under this Article shall be in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act, 2000, as amended.

  • Medical Care and Emergency Leave An employee is entitled to a leave of absence without pay because of any of the following:

  • Qualifying Exigency Leave In the event that a member of the employee’s immediate household is called to covered active duty, such as a short notice deployment (i.e., deployment within seven or less days of notice), the employee will be granted time off to address necessary family matters in accordance with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).

  • Medical Leave Pursuant to applicable provisions of the Civil Service Rules, County Code, and other law, medical leaves of absence will be granted by the employee’s Department Head upon request only upon submission of a doctor’s certificate or other satisfactory medical evidence of the employee’s need for such leave.

  • Family Medical Leave Act Pursuant to the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, an employee who has been employed at least twelve (12) months and worked at least 1,250 hours during the prior 12-month period is entitled to twelve (12) work weeks of leave during any 12-month period without pay but with group health insurance coverage maintained for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Medical Leave of Absence Where you have a medical leave of absence due to any medically determinable physical or mental impairment that can be expected to result in death or can be expected to last for a continuous period of not less than six months, and you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, a Separation from Service has occurred on the earlier of: (A) the first day on which you would not be considered “disabled” under any disability policy of the Company or Affiliate under which you are then receiving a benefit; or (B) the first day on which your medical leave of absence period exceeds 29 months.
