PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE AGREEMENT. It is the purpose of this Agreement to provide for the wages, hours and terms and conditions of employment of the employees covered by this Agreement; and to provide an orderly, prompt, peaceful and equitable procedure for the resolution of differences between employees and the Employer. Upon ratification, the provisions of this Agreement shall automatically modify or supersede: (1) conflicting rules, regulations and interpretive letters of the Department of Administrative Services pertaining to wages, hours and conditions of employment; and (2) conflicting rules, regulations, practices, policies and agreements of or within departments/Agencies pertaining to terms and conditions of employment; and (3) conflicting sections of the Ohio Revised Code except those incorporated in Chapter 4117 or referred to therein. This Agreement may be amended only by written agreement between the Employer and the Union. No verbal statement shall supersede any provisions of this Agreement. Fringe benefits granted by the Ohio Revised Code which are not specifically provided for or abridged by this Agreement, will be determined by the Ohio Revised Code.

PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE AGREEMENT. 5.1 The Parties agree that the purpose of this Agreement is to create a national team for the Term (as further described in Schedule 1 (Employment Model), Schedule 2 (Outline of Groups) and Schedule 5 (Terms of Reference)) which shall be led by the Lead Force and which shall be responsible for supporting the NPCC Modern Slavery Lead to improve the policing response across England and Wales to Modern Slavery. Each of the Parties to this Agreement shall act in such a way as promotes the achievement of the Objectives of this Agreement. 5.2 The Parties agree that although a national team shall be established to deal with the approach to Modern Slavery as further set out in Schedule 1 (Employment Model) and Schedule 2 (Outline of Groups), no independent unit will be created for the purposes of this Agreement. 5.3 The intention of the Parties is that, at the end of the Term, each of the Parties to this Agreement shall possess the requisite skills to deal with Modern Slavery on an individual basis moving forward. 5.4 The Parties shall operate the provisions of this Agreement so as to achieve the following objectives: 5.4.1 To inform, on a national basis, how the Parties are going to respond to the issue of Modern Slavery; 5.4.2 To establish the temporary posts which are set out in Schedule 1 (Employment Model) of this Agreement on behalf of UK policing in order to improve the response and approach to Modern Slavery at a strategic and operational level which shall be funded in accordance with the terms of this Agreement; 5.4.3 To improve intelligence and analysis to assess the threat of Modern Slavery at a national and regional level, and to provide guidance to improve the operational response to Modern Slavery; 5.4.4 To integrate interdependent functions (nationally co-ordinated actions, assessment, guidance and training) enabling a significant change in the way in which Modern Slavery is policed; 5.4.5 To provide a more consistent, coordinated and informed response to Modern Slavery across England and Wales to reduce vulnerability, threat and risk; 5.4.6 To enable the officers to recognise and efficiently investigate Modern Slavery through the provision of national standardised training; 5.4.7 To extend and improve confidence in the assessment of Modern Slavery; 5.4.8 To increase the evidence base and available guidance to support police forces to increase their focus on prevention, demand reduction and targeted intelligence development and interventions; 5.4.9 ...
PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE AGREEMENT. It is the intent and purpose of the parties hereto pursuant to the declaration of public policy contained in Act 195 of 1970 that this Agreement will promote orderly and good faith relationships between the Employer and its employees toward the end that the public at large is served as intended, and establish harmonious relationships between the Union and the Employer by setting forth herein the basic agreement covering rates of pay, hours of work, and terms and conditions of employment to be complied with between the parties hereto.
PURPOSE AND INTENT OF THE AGREEMENT. 5.1 The purpose and objectives of the Agreement are as follows: 5.1.1 to allow each Police Force to have a joint Platform for the mutual effectiveness and efficiency of policing, which shall: 5.1.1.1 allow for a nationally consistent, locally branded service creating the concept of a ‘digital police station’ giving the public a choice of how they want to interact, which shall transform the way in which digital information is received and triaged at the first point of contact; 5.1.1.2 allow for a fully integrated model of reporting; 5.1.1.3 significantly enhance the public contact experience and implement a service that can be extended to adapt to emerging business needs at a national level; and 5.1.1.4 lead to a reduced demand on contact centres as the public choose more efficient digital services and use the crime prevention advice and news content hosted on the Platform; 5.1.2 for the Parties to collaborate in relation to the Platform; 5.1.3 for the Parties to share Data in relation to the Platform; 5.1.4 for the Liabilities arising as a result of the entering into of this Agreement, the Grant Agreement, the G-Cloud Contract and/or any Additional Platform Contract and other matters set out within the terms of this Agreement to be shared between the Participating Police Forces; 5.1.5 recognising all Forces need a website, reducing duplication and overall cost, for the Participating Police Forces to share in the costs in relation to the Platform; and 5.1.6 to set out the governance structure and decision making in relation to the Platform. 5.2 The Parties acknowledge that the development of the Platform through the G-Cloud Contract, both in terms of content and technical capabilities, is iterative, and constructed using an agile methodology. Not all of the products and services for the Platform are expected to be known as at the Commencement Date, and there is an ethos of continuous improvement with funding for development being a key part of the ongoing budget under the G-Cloud Contract.

  • PURPOSE AND INTENT The general purpose of this Agreement is to set forth terms and conditions of employment, and to promote orderly and peaceful labor relations for the mutual interest of the Employer and the employees.

  • Entirety of the Agreement The terms and conditions of this Agreement and any of the attachments expressly incorporated by reference in this Agreement embody the entire agreement and understanding between the parties hereto, and there are no other agreements and understandings, oral or written, with reference to the subject matter hereof that are not merged herein and superseded hereby. No alteration, change or modification of the terms of the Agreement shall be valid unless made in a writing signed by both parties hereto and approved by the District’s governing body, the elected School Board, or its designee pursuant to official board policy. Contractor acknowledges, that pursuant to the doctrine of sovereign immunity, any purported oral modification to this Agreement is unenforceable.

  • Amendment of the Agreement The Company and the Participant may amend this Agreement only by a written instrument signed by both parties.

  • Intent of Agreement 3.1 Execution of this Agreement is a representation that the Contractor has carefully examined the Contract Documents and the site, and represents that the Contractor shall become familiar with the nature and location of each Project, the Worksite, the specific conditions under which the Services are to be performed, and all matters which may in any way affect the Work or its performance. The Contractor further represents that, as a result of such examinations and investigations, the Contractor thoroughly understands the Contract Documents and their intent and purpose, and is familiar with all applicable codes, ordinances, laws, regulations and rules as they apply to the Work, and that the Contractor will abide by same. Contract Documents are complimentary, and what is required by any one shall be as binding as if required by all; performance by the Contractor shall be required only to the extent consistent with the Contract Documents and reasonable inferable from them as being necessary to produce the intended results. 3.3 In the event of conflicting provisions in the specifications or the Drawings, the more specific provision will take precedence over the less specific; the more stringent will take precedence over the less stringent; and the more expensive item will take precedence over the less expensive. On all Drawings, figures take precedence over scaled dimensions. 3.4 Organization of the specifications into divisions, sections and articles, and the arrangement of Drawings shall not control the Contractor in dividing the Work among Subcontractors or in establishing the extent of Work to be performed by any trade. 3.5 Unless otherwise stated in the Contract Documents, words which have well-known technical or construction industry meanings are used in the Contract Documents in accordance with such recognized meanings. 3.6 In the event of any conflict between the Contract Documents or any ambiguity or missing specification or instruction, the following priority is hereby established: 3.6.1 Specific written direction from the City Manager or City Manager’s designee. 3.6.2 This Agreement.
